We were alerted before we went that there is no lingering at the table - turnover is their priority, but we were eating late so this was not an issue for us. The tables are certainly packed in so we were very cozy with our neighbors and each other. The food was good and priced much lower than what we'd... More

The man seating us did not look directly at us at all. I wasn't sure when he was speaking to us or people waiting behind us. We were seated at a small table (fine) between two rows of other tables on either side. Unfortunately it was so tight that when a waiter bent toward someone at the surrounding tables, their... More

We stayed at the Jameson Court apartments, and this place was suggested by one of the staff there. Really pleased we listened to her. Simple but delicious food, served by attentive staff, and given what we paid the following night, amazing value for money. Geraldine, who likes to be called "Ger", looked after us at the end of the night,... More

If you want good food at a reasonable price with a warm Irish welcome then look no further. Seafood Chowder and the Irish Lamb Stew are a knockout.

I went here with my girlfriend and another couple, after the morning spent at the university quarter, there are plenty of choice in Upper Salthill but at the end we decided to go here. That was the big mistake, we ordered 2 sea food platter that were awful: the salmon had a little taste of real salmon, shrimps tasted of... More

After waiting on a busy Sunday evening for about 25 minutes we were seated. Two of had fish and chips, one lamb, and one salmon. Without exception all declared their meals fantastic. It was a great start for our first meal in Ireland. Service was attentive and quick. An easy recommend.

We stayed 3 times at the Galleon during our recent stay in Galway. We really loved this place. We enjoyed all our meals there. The fish is fresh and excellent. ( the fish and chips was the best that I have ever had, and the salmon was very nice too). The Irish lamb stew was great too. The prices are... More

This restaurant has been in Salthill, to my certain knowledge for about 30 years. I know that in the 80s when I was Salthill on business I always made point to visit here. Signs on, all these years later, it is still just as good. It has a great wide ranging menu which doesn't break the bank but the food... More
