Lunch special consisted of mushroom starter followed by turkey and ham. Both my husband and I thought the turkey and ham left an after taste that was not pleasant, still with us after a strong cup of coffee. The potatoes were of a watery consistency. On the plus side the starter was fine and the service was good.

Salthill is a resort town next door to Galway. The Galleon Restaurant is child friendly so families were there. Although it was Thursday, and lunch, it was packed - mostly with locals it seemed. Most folks seemed to be having the special of the day. I had the Seafood Mornay which was both delicious and filling. Others in our group... More

We arrived late afternoon and walked around the boardwalk for a bit. By chance we went into the Galleon and were seated right away, even though the restaurant was very busy (it was a Sunday) Several specials were offered, I chose appetizer and main and my husband ordered main and dessert. All courses were delivered in a timely manner and... More

While visiting Galway recently we visited this restaurant which is right in the heart of Salthill on the out skirts of Galway City. Our B & B recommended we eat here. We were shocked to discover that even though it was a Monday evening the restaurant was full to the brim and the que for tables was right out onto... More

I have not been to The Galleon for a few years. It was always very good, and you could depend on good regular food. It has not changed. Recently we arrived late, having just driven from Dublin just before 10pm and they very kindly fitted us in. My husband had a great seafood salad and I had chicken Maryland with... More

We just came home from Galway yesterday after been to this restaurant twice while there. We go to Galway yearly and I look forward to it so much! The food is delicious the staff are very friendly and there extremely kid friendly which is an added bonus for us. I especially love the dessert menu.

This Restaurant is in existence since 1965. I first ate in this restaurant as a 4 year old child and today I bring my 4 year old child there. The staff are friendly and professional and the food has a great variety. Not over priced and something for all tastes.

My family & I had spent the day in Galway City / Salthill and we were in need of a restaurant which would be able to fulfill the hungry appetites of a toddler, teenager & two adults. We had never been to or heard of the galleon restaurant. But while looking for somewhere nice to eat, we noticed the large... More
