This is one of our favourite restaurants ever! We visit at least once a month and never get bored with the menu as there is always so much to chose from. Every Sunday the queue is out the door but we have never waited more than 15 minutes for a table. Even had both our graduation dinners here and both... More

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner. We we seated in a corner, with hardly any room to move without hitting the people beside us. The restaurant was busy and we felt like we were crammed in a corner. He ordered the beef and I order the veg. lasagne. Any professional chef would've been embarrassed to have served either... More

After reading the menu outside, my friend & I decided to go in for our dinner. We were greeted by a nice waiter, and even though it was busy we weren’t waiting long for a table. First impressions were good. There was a good crowd, good atmosphere, it is very family friendly and those who waited on us were really... More

We used this place because it accepted Taste card and they did bacon and cabbage and I wanted my partner to sample some proper Irish grub. This place was very busy but we were shown to a table and served in good time. The food was wonderful and the service delightful. The staff are young but very professional and friendly... More

We stayed at the salthill hotel and wondered in to the Galleon on the second night. The atmosphere their is fantastic and you instantly feel comfortable & relaxed once seated. I would recommend the Galleon without hesitation for amazing sea food chowder and excellent service you can only get in a long established and efficiently run restaurant. *****

My wife and I go to Galway / Salthill 2 or 3 times a year and we always make a point of going to the Galleon when possible. As a businessman myself, although not in the restaurant trade, I never cease to marvel at the well oiled machine that is the Galleon kitchen and waiting staff. If you want a... More

Seemingly I spent summer holidays in Galway eating in this restaurant as a child. I don't remember, but my mum does and when in Galway for lunch, she insisted we eat here for 'old times' sake'. So me, my mum and my sister had lunch. Starving we asked for bread to start. They only serve brown bread, they said (yet... More

The Galleon is a great restaurant for all the family as there is a good choice on the menu. Portions are generous and prices not dear. Staff very welcoming and kids are given crayons and picture and can win a voucher for the restaurant. It's right beside the promenade and this is great for a leisurely stroll after dinner. Only... Lunch special consisted of mushroom starter followed by turkey and ham. Both my husband and I thought the turkey and ham left an after taste that was not pleasant, still with us after a strong cup of coffee. The potatoes were of a watery consistency. On the plus side the starter was fine and the service was good.
