Here for the Galway races, from 9:30pm - 11:00pm they were doing a "sound check" for the band playing. Very disappointing and the crowd were booing, obviously we weren't the only ones annoyed at the situation. Not good enough.

Definitely worth the trip to this quaint traditional pub. Food was fairly good and the atmosphere was authentic

I went here last night on my first night in Galway. I didn't even look at Trip Advisor ahead of time so the 4.5 stars it received shocks me. My wife got the fish and chips. I got the guinness beef stew. I'm not kidding that the food came out in about 5 minutes. Which obviously means it was just... More

I received multiple recommendations from Irish relatives about this place, so when my wife and I went to Galway for an overnight trip, this is where we ate and had a few drinks. The atmosphere is fantastic, especially with live music. The pub is inside of what used to be an old church, and still has church furniture of heavy,... More

We ate downstairs in the restaurant and it was extremely poor quality of food. It felt like eating a microwave meal. Fish was like rubber. Service was the type of quick that was too quick, starters came about 3 mins after ordering! Very disappointing! However we stayed for about 2 hours afterwards having drinks and the bar is brilliant. The... More

Great food, good service - became very busy early evening as seems popular venue. Lively atmosphere with live band. The live band really got crowed going. really enjoyed evening here.

This is a fantastic pub to visit while in Galway. It looks very deceiving from the front and it is not until you enter that you realise there is a large area at the back. We went there one night after dinner to listen to some music there seems to be music on every night of the week, apparently it... More

Was a great pub to stop in and have pint. Our friends had reccomended blackcurrant cordial with Guinness (just to try!) And it was very good here! The atmosphere was lively and fun, but we didn't eat

We did not eat here so I cannot speak about the food. This pub has been operating for over 400 years. The interior has parts of an old church which make the decor inviting and cool. This pub is much larger than it first appears. It is on multiple levels and has several small bar areas. The food I saw... More
