Felt like a tourist trap. My husband's seafood platter was half mayonnaise-based seafood salads. His fresh oysters were excellent, however. My quiche was fair, obviously reheated too much. The salad was a lame coleslaw mess. My daughter's fish n'chips was obviously not the best we've had. The best... read more

Popped in to The Quays Restaurant with family while visiting Galway. This was not our first choice as town was very busy and we were very hungry. The food we ordered came very quickly and I presume the reason for this was the fact that it required absolutely no skill or effort from the chef. It was disgusting. Mushy tasteless... More

Visited on a busy Saturday afternoon, had soup with brown bread - soup extremely salty. Had one dessert, profiteroles, didnt taste very fresh. Very busy spot when any sports matches are on. Staff relatively nice.

I visited the quays for lunch and a few drinks, however we were all very disappointed with the events. For a start some of the staff had very poor English and could not understand that we wanted to take a look at the menu, and when we were presented with them he only gave us 2 menus when 5 adults were... Over 100 people in business group descended on Quays for dinner on a weeknight. Just FANTASTIC -- great staff -- engaging and attentive. Got the oysters, stew and lemon tart out efficiently while keeping the Guinness and wine flowing continuously. The best part was the live music -- live singers, two groups plus the Irish dancers -- just magical. Stayed... More

We had been following a list of recommended locations from a local friend and were doing great until we went "off list" checking out this place on our own (without checking any reviews) - the food was a great disappointment. The pub itself appeared to be a busy place. The restaurant not so much - that should have been our... More

The Quays is a brilliant place for a night out. The pub itself is on many levels and has a neat atmosphere. It's a great place to check out on a night in Galway. I really enjoyed the live music. I was here for a Christmas party and honestly wasn't all that impressed with the food. By no means was... More
