I basically licked my plate clean!

My husband and I spent time in Galway in our honeymoon and we were wandering around the shops looking for a place to eat and came upon The Malt House. The service was wonderful, our waitress was very sweet and prompt. I had the special that night, which was their version of surf-n-turf, pan fried... read more

Visited as a group of 12 with reservation. Had a long wait by the bar with standing room only. Seafood chowder was good but served lukewarm. The "Surf & Turf" is a total joke but could have been spectacular as the 4 scallops were delicious. The "TURF" consisted of 4 small balls of mashed potato with a bit of minced... More

Great restaurant located just off Shop Street down a little alleyway. Offers A La Carte and Early Bird menu. Great seafood options and steak is very good. Staff attentive and restaurant itself is beautiful inside. Restaurant was very busy and seems popular.

My boyfriend brought me here for dinner after being away for a week, it was recommended by friends and we were so disappointed. When ordering our meal I asked the waitress about the menu but she couldn't answer me and got another waitress to help but she couldn't help me either! After our starters we were waiting for over a... More

The food is amazing and the staff was more than attentive. Our waiter gave us some really good recommendations on the food. He nicely made me order the seabass which I wouldn't have tried on my own but he didn't promise too much, it was really lovely. Desserts are so delicious as well!

We love city breaks and this is our fav spot when in galway. Always lovely buzz at weekend and great options on menu too. Room is nice, no fuss. Food is tasty and service is good too. Early bird is great price or you might feel it expensive otherwise. Some great pubs around though for laters. Love Galway city

First impressions decor needs updating very worn looking not much of an atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and service was fast no delays. I ordered pigeon for starters but was not available not pointed out at the beginning. The food was very tasty but I did think it was over priced. The menu was limited in my opinion. Wine was... Online menu different to what was on offer. All courses very expensive. Wine extremely expensive for what was on offer. Service very slow. Four of us went last Saturday in January, and we were seated in the bar area, where upon every time somebody came or went you would feel the breeze coming in . You shouldn't be expected to... More

Lunch on Friday bore no resemblance to the menu online. Root veg jalfrezzi was really beetroot jalfrezzi and bright beetroot in colour to boot. Chowder was poor, inexplicably lumpy (but not because of the fish) and lukewarm. Goats' cheese bland, toast underneath soggy. The whole place felt 'tired', including the decor and the quality of the food. Service was good,... More

It was so wet and windy in galway and all I can say is the staff and the food menu in this establishment really brightened my day. It was a pleasure to visit from arrival until time of leaving we also found it to be quiet I guess due to the weather but all the better for us. This one... More
