We had a bracing walk along the promenade before a lovely lunch. When you book you choose your 'sitting' and we went for 1330 but the previous sitting had been cleared away and re-set a bit in advance so arriving early was not a problem. We looked no further than the specials although they have a very good looking a... More

Went to Cavistons on a cold wintery day, but the staff's wonderful attitude and level of service made the place warm and inviting. We had some beautiful fish dishes, the highlight being the mackerel and chilli jam, the crab claws, which the kids went mad for, and the chocolate dessert served with a lovely glass of Muscat. We also had... More

We visited this restaurant on the evening that Ireland beat France again🏉 Lucky to get a reservation some weeks previously in this place we thoroughly enjoyed the fine fare wine and excellent service This is a restaurant without parallel in this part of Dublin Go to it - you won't be disappointed 🍴🍷🐠

Had lunch today in Cavistons for the very first time. Can't believe that having bought fish for many years in their shop next door, that I never tried their restaurant! A perfectly priced lunch menu of 19 euros for two courses. The fish is cooked to perfection here and is presented beautifully and yet simply. We did not have any... More

Caviston's Seafood Restaurant is the place for a perfect lunch after a bracing visit to the James Joyce Tower and Museum in Sandy Cove, a ten minute walk down along the seafront. We were three friends celebrating a double birthday with a weekend in Dublin and had booked a table in advance - advisable at any time I would think,... More

Have been to this restaurant twice for both lunch and dinner and have had two great experiences. The fish is cooked exceptionally well and the potato and salad side was a lovely addition to the hotel. We shared the jug of elderflower and berry between the two of us and it was delicious! Very refreshing with a generous helping of... More

We enjoyed a post Christmas family dinner here. The starters of scallops, crab claws and piri piri all got the thumbs up. The turbot, haddock and cod were of superior quality. A cheese board with coffee was all we could manage after a terrific meal. A bottle of Sauvignon Blanc was expensive.

This is one of the finest delicatessen shops that I have been to. They carefully source everything, all of it high quality, and much of it not available anywhere else that I can see. Foods from all over Europe and the world are here. They have excellent fresh fish, cheese, meats and dairy products. Their pre-made food for taking away... More
