Just arrived in Dun Laoighre didn't have a booking but luckily got a table for two. There were only two ladies waiting table and it was full for the early sitting. Service was fantastic. I had lobster for main and it was delicious. My husband had salmon for main and it was equally good. The starters were good also. We... More

Been wanting to eat here for ages after a friend recommended it to us so made a surprise booking for my hubby and I when we were out that way last weekend. Seatings are not very flexible, either 12pm or 1.30pm or 3pm so due to time commitments, we took the 12pm sitting. The place is tiny but nicely laid... More

This is at least my 3rd visit to this excellent little restaurant with friends. The staff go to great length to make suggestions and to be helpful. The starter made the meal a special occasion, smoked mackerel coated in oatmeal and served with a rhubarb puree-a stroke of genius. Their hake is the best in Dublin and the salmon received top... More

This is a VERY small restaurant, offering two sittings for Dinner (no flexibility with timings in between). This is a seafood restaurant, and the selection of available fish is varied enough, tough not huge. Our party of two had the daily "special" - lobster and an a la carte option of Tuna steak. The lobster was served warm, in the... More

Cavistons never fails. They offer beautifully cooked fresh fish and seafood accompanied by delicious boiled potatoes and a salad. They allow the simple but delicious ingredients to speak for themselves. The service is provided by informed enthusiastic people and nothing is too much trouble. On my last visit the black sole was the best fish I have ever tasted. Whenever... More

Great seafood with professional service. Open Tuesday-Saturday. Small restaurant so you sit close to other patrons. Would recommend. You need to book, and they have 2 sittings per lunch/per dinner.

This was my first visit to Ireland and my husband thought it would be good to try some decent seafood. We could only book the early sitting on a Friday night and phoned ahead to ask if we could come later but would be finished before the next guest. This wasn't an issue for them at all. The restaurant is... More

I have been to Cavistons a few times in recent months. The choice of dishes is quite limited but the quality of the food is consistently good. It's a small restaurant, not unlike a cotinental bistro. It's always a good idea to reserve. I will be back.
