Had lunch today in Cavistons for the very first time. Can't believe that having bought fish for many years in their shop next door, that I never tried their restaurant! A perfectly priced lunch menu of 19 euros for two courses. The fish is cooked to perfection here and is presented beautifully and yet simply. We did not have any... More

Caviston's Seafood Restaurant is the place for a perfect lunch after a bracing visit to the James Joyce Tower and Museum in Sandy Cove, a ten minute walk down along the seafront. We were three friends celebrating a double birthday with a weekend in Dublin and had booked a table in advance - advisable at any time I would think,... More

Have been to this restaurant twice for both lunch and dinner and have had two great experiences. The fish is cooked exceptionally well and the potato and salad side was a lovely addition to the hotel. We shared the jug of elderflower and berry between the two of us and it was delicious! Very refreshing with a generous helping of... More

We enjoyed a post Christmas family dinner here. The starters of scallops, crab claws and piri piri all got the thumbs up. The turbot, haddock and cod were of superior quality. A cheese board with coffee was all we could manage after a terrific meal. A bottle of Sauvignon Blanc was expensive.

This is one of the finest delicatessen shops that I have been to. They carefully source everything, all of it high quality, and much of it not available anywhere else that I can see. Foods from all over Europe and the world are here. They have excellent fresh fish, cheese, meats and dairy products. Their pre-made food for taking away... More

Gourmet local offering. I've only ever frequented for a lunchtime sandwich but it's deliciously tasty esp their coleslaw! All high end offerings and lots of nice artisan produce. Great to have on your doorstop.

You can't get fresher seafood than at Caviston's and the menu is varied. You can actually watch the fresh fish being unloaded next door at Caviston's store.

Great fish restaurant. We had booked this because, even 2 weeks before, the places we wanted to book were already full. It was an easy ride on the Dart train - €6 return, which is a lot less than we would have had in the UK! We had the monkfish and halibut, both great, and nice bottle of Portugese wine.... More

We had eaten lunch here before and had somehow forgotten to return, so we avoided the Christmas rush in the city centre and had our own little Christmas lunch out in Cavistons. This is for fish lovers. There is always a good choice of fresh fish and shellfish and it is always cooked beautifully. What can I say? It isn't... More
