Spent a week hanging out at this pub every night while staying in Dun Laoghaire. From the first night I walked in I was made to feel at home and part of the family. The pub is decorated with a wonderful mashup of second hand couches and chairs set up so you can enjoy quiet conversation with a group of... More

Love this place. What a great idea. There are mismatched sofas, chairs and furniture, all second hand. Feels like you're at home in your living room having a take away and beer. Food can be ordered from the thai place (camille) across the road. And you'll be given a plate, forks and knives from the bar, food is delivered. The... More

Great staff, lovely atmosphere, very cool decor, nice smoking area, very good music selection and gigs, and the food is delicious, would recommend the red curry and a beer bucket!

Gilbert and Wright is "cool". Seating is set out like being in someones living room. Bar staff are friendly. Drinks selection is vast and varied. The walls and ceiling are covered in old album covers and you can play Jenga and other board games with your friends. My only complaint is they play their music just too loudly for me.... More

A gem of a pub. Decor is fab and we had a laugh with the lounge girl. I think her name was Maria. The atmosphere was great and unlike some modern pubs we could actually hear ourselves speak. We will deff return

The decor, the staff, the fact no two seats are alike. Great little function room, great music, open mic night in particular is excellent. STAFF STAFF STAFF, this is how staff should be in all pubs

This is by far my favourite spot to go out in Dublin...whether it is just meeting a small group of friends, a night out or a quiet drink with a date...this place has it all. It is cosy with comfy couches and old school decor. There is something on every night of the week with my favourite being the live music... More

A great atmosphere. The pub has character, old battered leather sofas and 60s furnishings. A lot of different functions going on. We had a good evening here. I couldn't find a loo until a girl pointed out that they were upstairs and ONLY upstairs, they lose a mark for that.

This pub is just a bit different to the norm, decorated in a cool "retro" style with 60's wallpapers and mixed style comfy couches, good range of drinks and good music on weekend evenings.

Gilbert & Wright is a traditional pub near the Dun Laoghaire Dart Station. On weekends you can find lovely live music. There is a variety of drinks for every taste. If you go there you have to try the Hot Passion cocktail. It is good value. Also, there is free Wi-Fi. The atmosphere is very irish and the seats are... More
