Food

Wonderful food, supports local business where possible. It's a small, family run restaurant with some of their staples. Portions are the correct size to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Invited by friends to a special Chinese menu evening at Bistro One, we were aware that this was not the typical fare they offer. But there was clearly an appetite for what was on the menu as their two sittings were extremely busy, so there was a lively and friendly atmosphere. Service was excellent, and the menu very appealing. Our... More

We had a voucher. Paid 30 got 60 worth of food/drink. We have been there some years ago and had a very special day as part of a communion party. So arrived.shown table which to say was snug for the 3 of us would be generous. Got impression vouchers in one room and regulars in another. Waitress left menus with... More

This was my second time to ea here. The food is faultless. The chef obviously cares deeply about what he prepares and serves. A bottle of their own Italian olive oil on the table was the best I've ever tasted. My duck was beautiuflly crispy and my husband's fillet steak cooked to perfection.

Waiting staff are very unapproachable and don't address customers when they approach the table. Certaintly not friendly or warm in manner. The tables are very close together and offer no privacy from adjoining tables. The menu is grossly overpriced for the portion sizes. The quality of some of the dishes were a huge letdown eg. the monk fish starter tasted... More

The restaurant was very busy and table waiting times were long between courses and initial placing if the order. The a la carte menu choices were fine. Portion sizes on the small side. I had the monkfish starter and was not impressed as it tasted and had a texture more like cod than monkfish. My main course was the rib-eye.... More

I have been to Bistro One numerous times over the past few years. Never once has the quality of food or service dropped from perfect. I am not normally a salad type of person but the Bistro One starter salad is amazing. The steaks are seriously good here. I have also had fish on a couple of occasions which is... More
