Great dosas

I was excited to find somewhere serving dosas in Dublin. The portions are generous and I enjoyed every bite. I came back later for a samosa Channa chaat, which I had many times in India. Unfortunately it was served very differently than I was used to... In a yogurt sauce, which isn't something for... read more

Tucked away in the buzzing hub of Mary Street, near the shopping centre of Henry street, Madina is one of Dublin's hidden gems! Serving generous, flavourful portions of curry and rice. Service can be a bit hit and miss but the staff are warm and friendly so you'd forgive most things! The interior is warm but feels a little like... More

Lovely food!! The interior it is quite simple, but inviting. You can see your food being prepared. Enjoyed the Jalfrezi lamb. Very nice price-quality restaurant. ;)

Went to the Madina Desi for the first time on a long weekend in Dublin love Indian food and this restaurant was close to our hotel so thought we would give it a try. First impression was not too good but never judge a book by it's cover, well this time we should have. Upon entering, we were seated and... More

Every once in a while I do love Indian food, but sometime you can get disapointed. Not at the Madina! I was looking for something tasty and spicy. My wife is not crazy about spices, but the good news is that she could choose accordingly. In any case, the food was really good, the Naan bread was just to die... More

We had lunch in Madina, soon after St Patrick's parade was over. You can imagine how busy all the places were. Even though the restaurant was packed, the staff was very helpfull and placed us at the first table that was released. Just had to wait 5-10 mins. No need to say more about the prompt service and the delicious... More

My comments here are in reference to the Takeaway food quality and service as I did not eat in the restaurant. As any Indian vegetarian will tell you, outside of India it is almost impossible to get good vegetarian food. Notable exceptions is the Woodlands franchise in London, USA etc (http://www.woodlandsrestaurant.co.uk/piccadilly.html). Finally here in Dublin we now have a takeaway... More

Firstly let me say - I really enjoy flavoursome spicy food - and I do mean flavoursome - NOT just hot (as anyone can do that) Dublin is a gorgeous city - but the typical fayre, can be a bit bland. Finding the restaurant takes you off the beaten track. Over O'Connell bridge walk towards the spire. Turn left at... More

Top class dosa's and the other dishes were also good as were the different Indian breads we tried - the service is excellent but not smarmy like a lot of other places - it has distinct Indian style to it and lots of Indians eat there which I think is a good sign. A note for the Nepali waitress -... More

I was in Dublin alone on business and having been to Madina a few years previous and very much enjoyed the food, I thought it would be a safe option! I arrived at Madina at about 7.15pm asking for a table for one. The manager/owner at the counter was very friendly and called a young female waitress over to sort... More
