Great food, great night!

Up in the Dublin mountains is a lovely bar and restaurant. The musicians were great, got everyone joining in then came the dancers with an amazing amount of energy! The food was delicious. A great night had by all!

The perfect family evening out with taxi included, the food was beautiful and offers the a real Irish experience. The plough boys are brilliant entertainers as well as making great music & fantastic Irish dancers that leave you in awe. This is what you imagine when you think of Irish pubs the atmosphere is brilliant and appealed to all ages.... More

This was set up on our tour and I was not sure exactly what we were getting into. The food was very good, and the house band setup to begin playing, they were exactly what an Irish trio should be. They covered many standard Irish ballads and did a few original songs, sadly I did not buy the cd that... More

We ordered through their website, with transportation from our hotelarea. A taxi were waiting for us at the pickup-point and had a nice drive with a great driver who guided on the way up to the Ploughboy and back to our hotel after the show. The dinner was super and so were the musicians and dancers at the show. Highly... More

Hi Tony, we hoped you enjoyed your night at the pub overall. Regarding the menu, typically from Thursday to Sunday our daily specials would included a fresh fish main course and often a special fish starter. This is in addition to the regular options of sea bass, fish & chips (using fresh cod) and fresh scampi. There is also a... More

We eat at this restaurant quite regularly and we have never had a bad meal! The food is always fresh and tasty and there is a great atmosphere in the pub with regular live music. Excellent would recommend.

Went here with my family today. I had the wings and seabass. Possibly the best meal I've ever had. Heard the wings were great but God the were more then that. Outrageous. Good value also. Was in another rathfarnham pub recently and wings not half as good. My daughter loves the veg bowl which is great. 👍

As a group of 3 couples we visited The Merry Ploughboy on Saturday evening where we were entertained by accomplished musicians and dancers. The food and service were very good and the waiters efficient and friendly. The restaurant was full to capacity with a wide age range of customers who enjoyed the evening. My only criticism was not of the... More
