Description: Montys of Kathmandu, a multi-award winning Nepalese Restaurant in the heart of Dublin's Cultural quarter and now more recently, in the leafy suburbs of Rathgar. Montys is the first Nepalese Restaurant ever to open in Ireland specialising in the beautiful food from the Himalayan Kingdom. We make everything inhouse and do nor use any artificial additives to enhance the flavours of our food. All our chefs are natives of Nepal and it is owned by Nepalis too. We pride ourselves on giving you the customers the authentic experience, with out taking any short cuts. We source all our ingredients, where possibly locally and use the best possible available to us.

When you walk in the door you are treated to wonderful aromas and an equally welcoming greeting. The atmosphere and decor are pleasing, charming, a bit exotic and comfortable. Service is impeccable, informative and most helpful . . . important if you, like us, have never tried Nepalese food before. While we perused the menu, asked many questions and went... More

We went to this restaurant for my husbands 40th birthday. All 7 of us were very impressed with the food, service and atmosphere. It was outstanding. One of the best napolese restaurants I have ever been to. Staff were friendly and catered to our every need. They even organised the cake and balloons for me. Shiva the owner of the... More

Dublin is blessed with having a young, thriving Nepalese community living and working in the city. Along with these friendly and hard working people comes another bonus in the form of really excellent Nepalese restaurants. Monty's is one of them and I have eaten here several times. The last time was a lunch and the food is just as good... More

The restaurant was cosy & had a lovely friendly atmosphere, The food was tasted beautiful, very colourful & fresh. We were celebrating our friend's 40th birthday & the staff helped the night to go very smoothly. The restaurant ordered a special birthday cake & balloons & were very attentive. The food was a little pricey, but you have to expect... More

Visited Monty's for the first time at the weekend. It was recommended to me by a friend and all I can say is wow! Shiva the owner is a real pro and his staff were brilliant. We had an assortment of starters and we did this for the main course also and I would be here all day trying to... More

Staff were so friendly, food was great, including the complimentary naan bread. Early bird menu only €18 for 2 courses...very reasonable. The desserts are traditional Nepalese desserts so may not be for everyone's taste. Overall a great experience and highly recommended!

My husband has spent the best part of the last eighteen months working in Dublin and continually raves about Monty's - we went there over the weekend & I wasn't disappointed. They have a small but concise vegetarian menu, there should be something there for everyone. I had the Aloo Tama Pidalo which comes with a ramekin of plain rice... More

Tucked away in a quiet street off Temple Bar lies Monty's of Kathmandu. I've used this restaurant for years and have never failed to get a cracking meal. The staff are from Nepal and are very friendly and attentive. Shiva, the owner is always ready to have a chat and suggest some dishes you may want to try. If you've... More

The staff are really attentive and friendly without being overbearing. We shared the starter platter. The prawns and lamb curry were spectacular. Our mains were great. I didn't get the wine I ordered but still got a really nice bottle and the prices are very reasonable. Will definitely go back and highly recommend it.
