Very good

Lovely place next to dublin castle , a bit pricey but it's worth it , if the weather is nice you can be seated outside . But it wasn't when we were visiting . A bit small inside but it's cozy . Recommended

Possibly the worst value restaurant in Dublin city, we were a large group of students who were charged 40e how a set 3 course meal. Not to mention a hidden 12% service charge and also not the option of red or white white manager just proceed to open red wine. Terrible place ,small portions, awful atmosphere wouldn't return in a... More

We returned to Chez Max when we visited Dublin recently. We had eaten here before and really liked it. On this occasion we again enjoyed ourselves immensely. The food is very good but visitors should know that it is French. There is a very good selection of French wines. Could you ask for more?

Good coffee, nice ambiance and tasty desserts and treats. A great place to relax or to go on a date. Dublin doesn't have enough cafes like this. Ambiance is for me, always more important that the coffee... which is luckily fine here.

Tonight I met a friend in Chez Max for a glass of wine, most of my work colleagues would go there. Halfway through my friends drink she discovered a fly in it. These things happen but we were shocked with the reaction we received. We notified the waitress who we had to call a couple of time before she noticed... More

lovely cafe, great location at the gates to Dublin Castle. Have visited here twice. A lovely place to share a bottle of wine and watch the world go by. Ate from the early bird menu on our last visit. Lovely food but the menu was a bit limited. Very friendly staff. A little bit of Paris in Dublin.
