Good service - good food - in a tunnel

we were advised by the hotel receptionist to choose this restaurant as it has a nice terrace for drinks ! Whilst it was sunny it was freezing outside and we were direct underground by a lovely girl to the cellar ! It was a surprise - great ambience in a stunning setting. Had a pretty awful experience here, having been before and enjoyed the food and ambience. I thought burger and chips would be a safe bet, but I was wrong. Burger was a very unpleasant consistency and chips were undercooked. And what restaurant lays tables and forgets to put salt and pepper on them? Sloppy and lazy.

We were suffering from complete indecisiveness about where to eat whilst staying at the Jurys Inn next door and are so glad that we plumped for this place. The bar and brasserie are two different beasts - the bar is upstairs and a cold, modern, glass affair, whilst the brasserie downstairs is in fantastic vaulted cellars. This branch of Ely... More

Was very pleasantly surprised to find this restaurent, wanted a steak dinner without breaking the bank and was not disappointed. Above par meal with above par staff in an amazing ambience...have only one tiny gripe & that's that every main dish was served with chips ( homemade ) but I really hate chips, this is only a very personal gripe...every... Our dining experience in the cellar of an atmospheric tobacco warehouse was made quite wonderful by our knowledgable and charming waitress. She challenged our wine and whiskey choices, cleverly linking our tastes to something just a little bit better. Her recommendations were excellent and she went out of her way to check that everyone, even our teenagers, were happy with... More

Seated at 17.15 but order not taken for over 30mins! Had to ask three different people for drinks. After starter we waited over 30mins for main course. When we asked about the delay our waitress told us

this was really nice. Lots of wine by the glass I think they boasted 80 wines if I read it right. The food was tasty and they were very flexible including bringing my colleague some extra soup. I had the scallops - delicious. Attentive service without being over the top.

If you're looking for a terrific venue for your final night in Dublin, the Ely Bar & Brasserie has a lot to recommend. Very dramatic dining room, in a 200-year-old wine cellar. Friendly....not stuffy at all. Creative and perfectly executed cocktails. And the cooking is spot-on. Somehow, there are chefs that elevate food beyond what you expect or imagine, and... More

Fabulous food, good value and service. Had my wedding reception here and I must say that the staff was excellent both in organizing the reception and on the day.

We just stopped in for drinks but can’t wait to return and also to try out the other Ely locations in Dublin. The wine list by the glass offers a nice selection and the Calamari were yummy!
