Had Friday lunch in the cellar restaurant. Really good buzz, and the service was outstanding. I took the slow cooked leg of lamb and it was very tasty. Also had the cheese platter, which was great. This is an excellent choice if you're in the financial centre of the city.

We walked along the river and stumbled across this bar and restaurant while looking for somewhere to eat at 9pm on a fri evening (our flight only arrived at 8.15). The bar was very busy, the restaurant is downstairs in the cellar/basement it has been renovated really well. Food and wine was great just what we needed!

My family and I went here for a pre theatre dinner menu on a Saturday. The venue is fab and really cosy. But the service was poor. There were 5 of us at dinner, but we only received 4 tiny pieces of bread. Then 6 main courses arrived. 3 people ordered coffees but only 2 arrived. When we we're brought... More

The Ely is a riverside restaurant sited in an old bonded warehouse. Four of us had a two course pre theatre special menu. We found the atmosphere and service first rate, and the food good value and a nice selection of dishes on the special menu. I would recommend the Ely and intend to return next time I am in... More

we first came to Ely for a 4-week wine appreciation course with Ian. On the first night, we arrived a little early and sat at the bar upstairs to have a few bites. The bar staff were wonderful and super helpful. The food was delicious - we had this amazing fried brie that is disastrously not on the menu anymore.... More

Simply superb service, very good food!, delicious wine, charming helpful staff. This very attractive place has a great buzz, a great bar up stairs with good views and an atmospheric vaulted dining area with intimate but social spaces to enjoy well served food.
