as we were off to see Andréa bochelli at the 3arena we decided to have some food at ely bar & brassiere at the chq building, in great company and lovely surroundings the food was of a high standard and the portions sizes just enough to leave room for dessert ,a very simple menu of 5 starters 5 mains and... Looking for a late dinner near our hotel, the receptionist recommended Ely's. The maître d' was very accommodating (even moving furniture) to protect us from cigarette smoke blowing in from the patio. He remained graciously attentive throughout our meal, but he went off duty before I could get his name and thank him properly. It was our second night in... More

I was walking around the docklands area looking for a restaurant and stumbled upon ely bar & brasserie. It's a little difficult to find, but the atmosphere was great, the food had traditional irish and fine dining options. The staff were able to recommend wine pairings and that made for a great evening. There is indoor and outdoor space and... More

Went to Ely with a group of colleagues for some drinks and food. Our table was reserved as requested, the food platters excellent and the table service was very prompt. Would recommend and will definitely be back again.

Heading to the Bord Gais Theatre a couple of Saturdays ago we decided to stop here for a drink about 4.30ish. This was our first time here. The decor is really lovely and they had nice music playing in the background so we decided to have a bite to eat and a bottle of wine.We both ordered the special of the... Loved the lively setting, service and the bar. The food looked great and it was good to spend some down time there in a relaxed but sophisticated bunch of patrons. Great drinks! Great location.

Went there for a quick lunch with my baby and the staff couldn't have been nicer. The orders were quickly taken and a high chair was provided. I love the choices on their children's menu! And you can order kid's portions of adult meals for half the price. My brown crab and avocado salad was so good that my son... More

Having fallen for too many poor wine tasting around town, let me say that the folks in Ely know what to do it right. Ely is a favourite of mine, being close to my job and not far from home. Everything these folks do, from service to food to events is outstanding. Nothing gets short changed. Ely is celebrating their... More

Nice building and staff who try hard but menu is limited. Service is good but this place really suits large groups / crowds. Our food choice (two burgers) was good and the wine list is fairly good. Overall, we wouldnt be going back there but if you are in the area and want to stay local its not bad.

Not only did the cab driver not know where this address was, neither did the people on the street. We finally found it, but thought it really wasn't worth the trip, mainly because the menu was not to our taste."Irish Modern"??? What's that? Young diners would enjoy this more---hip decor, but too dark for us. Service uneven.
