Oh mon dieu! Magnifique

What a fantastic evening , the meal was spectacular, absolutely mouthwatering. I had the fish soup, I was pleasantly surprised at how much fish was actually in it, the chicken main was fantastic and I adored the ice creams and sorbet, the flavours (ameretti, vanilla, etc.). The food was beautiful, the staff were friendly and a meal for two costed the price you would expect. However the overall experience did not really click for me as the atmosphere was a bit lacking and with solid competition as its neighbour, I don't think I'd be in a rush to choose it over them in the future. It... More

I had a great dinner here while on vacation in Dublin. Delicious warm vegetable salad and chicken/gnocchi dinner. The best part was the dessert. Be sure to ask the server's recommendation for the food - I did, and she never steered me wrong. The pumpkin cheesecake with salted caramel ice cream was an Christmas present for my taste buds.

I really liked the good food. It was perfect for lunch with well designed menu, friendly staff, and very tasty food. Nothing to complain about except it took a little longer than a soup and sandwich.

If you are looking for elaborately presented innovative food, La Mere Zou is not the place for you. On the other hand if you like traditional French bistro cooking, perfectly cooked and quite elegantly presented you will no doubt enjoy this restaurant. At lunch with friends, we found everything from bread to coffee to be excellent.

Had a special birthday dinner in La Mere Zou in November. Classic French cuisine aat very fair prices. Of the five of us two stayed with the Fixe Prix menyu which was very good value. Two of us had delicious steak. One of the party said probably the best she ever had.I had moules frites. Lovely plump mussells with crisp... More

My girlfriend and I went for dinner and opted for the excellent early bird menu. The food was delicious and the wine list was decent and pretty reasonable as well. The waiting staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming which contributed to the cosy atmosphere. They have two sittings and while we did not feel rushed the food was very prompt!... More

From Eric Tydgadt, owner of La mere Zou: Thank you for your review, La mere Zou is a small restaurant but we do have one or two tables that are more intimate and we can, of course, reserve those on request if they are available. We went for the early bird special, 5.30 to 7pm, somewhat rashly without a reservation, but we still got squeezed in. The restaurant appears to be a favourite with young local couples sorting each other out, civilised groups of, perhaps, student friends and also with aged regulars, good signs for tourists such as ourselves. The French cooking was very competent,... More
