My wife and I seem to be revisiting our favourite Dublin restaurants this week, thanks to all the vouchers we have accumulated over the Christmas period. Included in this group is, of course, La Mere Zou which describes itself as “a solidly French restaurant offering classic bistro dishes in the city centre since 1994”. I can attest to this well-worded... More

Enjoyed a wonderful 3 course lunch in La Mere Zou at the start of December. Food was fabulous, service excellent and the ambience very special. We were under time pressure so didn't get to linger but this is the type of place that I can see myself spending a few hours with good food, great friends in a lovely cozy... More

Stayed in the Conrad hotel last weekend. Researched restaurants in the vicinity and this had very good reviews on Tripadvisor. Went for a pre theatre meal and can see why it is so highly recommended. Lovely warm atmosphere, superb service, excellent food. Our booking was for 6.00 and we were out by 7.30 (by choice) but we did not feel... More

Can't fault the food, service or ambience. Lunchtime three course menu is very good value at €25. I loved the trout main course, particularly the spicy pepper sauce, it was delicious! Lunch was finished with an espresso, served at the correct temperature!

We went here for my mom's birthday dinner. Friendly & helpful service, great traditional French bistro food , comfortable & pretty atmosphere. When we were there, they offered a 3 course meal for 26 euros , between 5-7 pm. Worth every penny (and I'm usually happy with very simple, inexpensive fare). Right off of St Stephen's.

La Mere Zou is one of those go-to restaurants where you know you'll always get a reasonable meal. A mixture of Franco-Belgian cooking and good wine will satisfy most tastes. Worth trying.

We booked the pre concert early bird dinner on a busy Saturday night, met and shown to our table by very attentive staff, the early bird Christmas special menu was 3 courses for €32.50, starters were excellent and the main courses were even better, the confit duck with red cabbage & goose fat roast potatoes was Christmas on a plate... I don't quite know why it's been so long since I ate at La Mere Zou, since I've never had a bad meal there, and my recent experience was wonderful. Despite the need to persuade our waitress to bring some bread to the table while we waited for one more person to join us, service was attentive and helpful. My... More

So despite this place being open a very long time and me living in Dublin quite a long time at this stage too, this was the first time that I'd visited. We had received some vouchers quite a while back (they're vouchers don't expire - an epic touch in my opinion!) so we were treating ourselves to a lovely a... More

I hadn't heard of la mere Zou until it was suggested by a colleague for lunch recently. I was pleasantly surprised! The restaurant is quite small and, combined with the wonderfully eclectic decor, it creates quite an intimate and cosy atmosphere. The staff all seemed to be french and were both friendly and helpful. We all chose the 3 course... More
