Always a welcome, always splendid food expertly prepared. Particularly enjoyed Bastille Day, a relaxed restaurant comfortable atmosphere. Looking forward to next visit.

French fine dinning, a cosy and well decorated restaurant . The rating was given as average because we didn't have the welcomed feeling by the manager. He seemed reluctant to have us as guests. He opened the door and just simply pointed us to a table and left us unattended, disliked! However, we love the waiter and waitress , they... More

I ate in La Mere Zou on a Saturday night with some friends. The restaurant was celebrating it's 20th anniversary and they offered a special Tapas menu of dishes they have served over the 20 years, which looked very interesting! (I think that runs through the end of Sept 2014). In the end, however, we all chose from the "Butcher's... More

The restaurant is centrally located (St. Stephen's Green) and the ambiance and service was perfect. The others in my party all ordered either steaks or rump of lamb, which they said they enjoyed. I had the special (tuna), which I asked to be prepared rare, but it was a bit overcooked and therefore also a bit dry. Even though this... More

We ate here on a Thursday evening with some friends. Nice restaurant situated in a basement on St. Stephen’s Green. Food was very good, great variety but the staff were very cold with little or no personality. Although we left a tip, we asked ourselves why as there was nothing special about the service we received. I would return for... More

I used to frequent this restaurant many years ago and recently was there on a Friday evening with some ex-work friends. We had three main courses - fish, lobster and steak and overall the dishes were plentiful and tasty. Nothing has really changed for me, the food is very good and the ambiance is usually quite nice. Something that hasn't... More

This place is a hidden gem! So nice. Its a basement restaurant. Very quirky. The food that we ordered was delicious. The staff attentive. Would definitely go back. Surprisingly reasonably priced too considering the quality of food!

Group of three and we availed of the early bird. Food and service were excellent. Meats and fish cooked to perfection and as ordered. Just one crib - I was taken aback when I was asked by the waiter to add a tip to my credit card. We generally tip when the meal and service are good. And we would... More

In typical Dublin 2 fashion we paid well over the odds for average food (tasty but nothing spectacular) and average wine. Some extra french fries were needed to attempt to fill our little grumbling tummies. We had the nonsense of being asked to leave a half empty restaurant at 20:30 despite no indication of the sort when we took our... More

We had a meal to celebrate a wedding anniversary recently in La Mere Zou - we had asked for a nice table and we were given one by the window. We ate off the Early Bird menu and as usual the food was very tasty. The staff are very attentive and polite.I had never really noticed before how close the tables are...
