Description: Thornton's Restaurant is an award winning Michelin starred restaurant...
Thornton's Restaurant is an award winning Michelin starred restaurant located in the heart of Dublin City overlooking the leafy expanse of St Stephen's Green. Innovative and exquisite cuisine, presentation referred to as 'artwork on a plate' and service often compared to a theatrical performance make for a truly memorable experience at Thornton's Restaurant. There is attention to detail in every aspect of the experience, from the intricate food through to the impressive wine list and professional service. Our changing menu reflects the seasonal and local produce available to us and underpins our passion for reigniting the importance of the seasons. Working closely with our providers that supply us with the highest quality of ingredients, we can ensure that our produce is ethically sourced, sustainable and most importantly the best we can obtain. Head Chef and Proprietor Kevin Thornton is widely regarded as Ireland's best chef. Having featured in everything from the Irish Times to the New York Times, Thornton's is celebrated as one of the best restaurants in Ireland and is also internationally commended.

Lovely Dinner

We enjoyed the tasting menu at this restaurant immensely. Service and execution were top rate, and the beet amuse bouche was beauty on a plate. Several visits by the chef were appreciated and added a welcome touch to the modern Irishness of the dinner!

So, this is one of Dublin's single-starred Michelin restaurants and it has all the trappings of the category: small nouvelle cuisine dishes, weird glass jugs with steam coming from them and a decent wine list. The room is nice (years ago, I ate here and did not like it because it had no ambiance) and it was a busy friday... More

Our experience at this restaurant was second to none. Our lunch was easily one of the best and most memorable meals we've ever enjoyed. The food is so pure, the plating is immaculate (and each plating is finished by Kevin Thornton himself). He is a Master Chef with an incredible attention to detail and an artist with an impeccable aesthetic.... More

Just wow! The staff are friendly and extreamly helpful without being overbearing. Had 3 course lunch and they paired wines with the courses as I was unfamilliar with the wine list and it was a great choice. Food was unreal, had to try his "Eireyu" beef was not disappointed. To top things off chef came to our table and said... More

Kevin Thornton's passion for cooking and attention to detail comes through on the plate every time for me. The Roast Saltee Island King Scallop (that appeared as an extra course) and the slowly braised Eiregyu (Wagyu) beef cheek with pomme moussline were particularly superb. For dessert, I can never resist Kevin's Chocolate crème brûlée with coconut bubbles. The waiting staff... More

We dined as a family of four for a special lunch. We all had the tasting menu & shared two wine flights. It was superb from start to finish, presentation stunning with just so much theatre without detracting from the food, relaxed but efficient, knowledgable service, delicious and often surprising food with excellent provenance & seasonality. Invariably with four people... More

Traveling in Ireland with family, Thorntons was the only meal of the entire trip that disappointed. The food overall was decent, though certainly not up to our expectations of a Michelin-starred restaurant. The bigger issue was the ego of the chef himself, which sadly spoiled the meal. I have never sent back a dish before, but I sent back my... More

A friend of mine gave me a voucher to treat myself and a friend and it turned out that the food was sensational. The visit was great a window table was requested when I made the reservation and we were looked after very well. Great views and a very very unique menu. The staff were all incredible and the service... More

Thornton's will be remembered as one of the finest dining experiences we've ever had! Chef Kevin is so talented and is so generous in sharing his gift with others. We sat at table 8 (ask for it, it's a fine table with a view!) and had the tasting menu. Outstanding food and service! OMG the meal was creative, a feast... More
