Description: Thornton's Restaurant is an award winning Michelin starred restaurant...
Thornton's Restaurant is an award winning Michelin starred restaurant located in the heart of Dublin City overlooking the leafy expanse of St Stephen's Green.
Innovative and exquisite cuisine, presentation referred to as 'artwork on a plate' and service often compared to a theatrical performance make for a truly memorable experience at Thornton's Restaurant.
There is attention to detail in every aspect of the experience, from the intricate food through to the impressive wine list and professional service. Our changing menu reflects the seasonal and local produce available to us and underpins our passion for reigniting the importance of the seasons. Working closely with our providers that supply us with the highest quality of ingredients, we can ensure that our produce is ethically sourced, sustainable and most importantly the best we can obtain.
Head Chef and Proprietor Kevin Thornton is widely regarded as Ireland's best chef. Having featured in everything from the Irish Times to the New York Times, Thornton's is celebrated as one of the best restaurants in Ireland and is also internationally commended.

Lunch Saturday

Beautiful three course meal with attentive staff. Exciting fish course & an amazing cheese board. I have never visited this place before but it's on my radar next time I come back to Dublin. Will be booking the tasting menu next time. Good work Thorntons! Jill Sydney

Slightly jarring decor. Wonderful staff. Food presented as art. 5 course tasting menu was weak in Scallop sashimi and the salmon sous vide was bland. Deer was good and the pidgeon was a highlight. Again chocolate was overly rich and I didn't think apple was a good choice. Probably wouldn't go back with competition like Pearl and 41

There's no denying that Kevin is seriously talented (world class). His creations or journeys that he brings you on are technically on the edge of absolute brilliance with every dish. Yes, some of the dishes are slightly wacky but brilliant none the less. Losing the star seemed very odd!!- can't quite understand that! Hopefully that will be back this year.... More

Could not fault Thorntons in anyway. Our experience started with warm welcome from the staff on arrival in a beautiful restaurant. The food was among the best I have ever had and with chef Kevin himself appearing with every course to explain what you are having gives you a real vip feeling. I will definitely be returning

I love Thorntons. Kevin brings you on a journey with his food. It is almost a fusion of art meets food presented by a wonderful showman with a passion for food. he creates such a superb dining experience with excellent foods and tastes and the Sommeliers choices of matched wines are outstanding.

While staying at the Fitzwilliam we had the opportunity to dine at Thornton’s, and what an experience it was. The last time I was here was over a year ago it had its Michelin Star, it was taken away recently ,but you know the place was as brilliant now as it was when it had its star, I could see... More

Had the pleasure of being brought here for lunch and enjoyed every minute of it. Oysters in champagne were melt in the mouth! Ordered the brill which was really tasty and served with a fish broth. Desert I chose I caramel mousse served with Apple ice cream. My fellow diners equally had excellent experiences.

We treated ourselves to the Tasting Menu at Thorntons Restaurant last Thursday - it is our annual pre-Christmas treat and, as always, was superb. The menu included an interesting oyster dish to start, then sashimi and roasted scallops, salmon in a ginger and lemongrass broth, sika deer with elderberries and a parsnip puree (Roger's favourite) whilst I particularly enjoyed the...
