Description: Thornton's Restaurant is an award winning Michelin starred restaurant located in the heart of Dublin City overlooking the leafy expanse of St Stephen's Green. Innovative and exquisite cuisine, presentation referred to as 'artwork on a plate' and service often compared to a theatrical performance make for a truly memorable experience at Thornton's Restaurant. There is attention to detail in every aspect of the experience, from the intricate food through to the impressive wine list and professional service. Our changing menu reflects the seasonal and local produce available to us and underpins our passion for reigniting the importance of the seasons. Working closely with our providers that supply us with the highest quality of ingredients, we can ensure that our produce is ethically sourced, sustainable and most importantly the best we can obtain. Head Chef and Proprietor Kevin Thornton is widely regarded as Ireland's best chef. Having featured in everything from the Irish Times to the New York Times, Thornton's is celebrated as one of the best restaurants in Ireland and is also internationally commended.

If music be the food of love, play on.......In Thornton's Restaurant in Dublin, the high notes, the lower notes and all the notes in between are all in perfect harmony in the truly creative and exquisite food which Maestro Kevin Thornton produces. The excellent service and great wines all combine to give, what can be described as, a command performance.... More

On arrival you are greeted by a very professional friendly team who really look after you. The menu is inventive and seasonal. The food was exceptional - I cannot recommend the trout starter enough - absolutely perfect !! We all chose different dishes and all of them were fabulous. The staff are well briefed on the food and with every... More

The chef interacts personally with his patrons/guests which makes the entire experience special. His passion about food is evident from the moment one enters the restaurant. The food was excellent, I felt totally in awe of the moment, surrounds and the atmosphere. His staff are a little too 'stiff' and it's a pity that his passion is not passed on... More

When we arrived the atmosphere and décor were very relaxing and elegant. Although very few were in the dining room, we waited in the lobby for drinks and table setup for awhile. The drinks were not the best, but we were seated shortly after getting them, so we didn't complain. Service was attentive during ordering, and the beginning courses. Time... More

Have waited a while to review this Restaurant, partly because I don’t like leaving negative reviews and partly because we received a gift voucher for the meal from our two student children and I felt bad about not enjoying it (how very Irish). We arrived for our first visit to Thornton’s for our Wedding Anniversary. We were waiting to be... More

A large group (20 of us) went for Saturday night dinner recently & while the food was good quality, the whole experience was an extreme disappointment and this was not just a personal view; I spoke to at least 12 of the group afterwards and everybody said the same thing. It took 2.5 hours from when we arrived (on time)... More

We ate here on our last evening in Dublin, and had already dined in some very nice restaurants. This was amazing. The food was so good, elegantly prepared and plated, and the flavours were different and so good. We ordered separately, as opposed to the tasting menu, and everything was to die for. I get it.
