We had the tasting menu and I thought it was pretty awesome. Kevin Thornton himself served some of the courses and had interesting stories to tell about the particular course, the ingredients and the way it was prepared. The whole presentation, the service and the attention of the staff was delicious. This restaurant has been around for some time but... More

I have been very fortunate as a twenty two year old to have been brought here multiple times by my parents. I was a bit worried about eating in a Michelin star restaurant and not fitting in as a young adult but I didn't need to worry, all the staff are very kind and Kevin and his wife are lovely... More

We had a wonderful meal at Thorntons. We went for the tasting lunch menu and it was exceptional. A really creative and innovative meal with outstanding service and attention to detail. In my view still the best restaurant in dublin.

I brought my wife to Thorntons expecting wonderful things. I guess I was under the impression that we would experience fine dining, a great atmosphere and enjoyable afternoon. It was a little disappointing overall. Very nice food. No argument at all. However, we have eaten in great restaurants around the world and in Ireland, from Roux to Ramsey and Thorntons... More

Six of us went to dinner pre christmas (incidentally I was not paying) it was beautiful but so expensive €75 a head without wine, price out of reach of most individuals, frequented mainly by the very wealthy/expense account holders. Tried it once and probably would not be happy to pay €75 again, a couple here could easily spend €250.00 (fine... More

This was truly a treat! I was at Thorntons for a Christmas Eve lunch. I ordered from a set menu (7 courses). In anticipation of my lunch, I looked at reviews on TripAdvisor. I saw the negative ones and wondered if I was going to end up wasting 100 euros. I'm so glad I went! I have no idea what... More

We had a lovely family ladies lunch out in Thorntons in December. The food was excellent along with the presentation and service. A nice touch was the chef, Kevin Thornton, visiting each table to explain the main courses and to see that everything was going well. Great location too on Stephen's Green.

Four of us flew to Dublin for the day. High light was the meal at Thorntons which was inventive beautifully cooked and presented. I have been to some very good and well known restaurants this year and Thorntons was up there with the best. Thanks

Our recent visit to Thornton's was hugely enjoyable. Food was excellent, inventive but not overly fussy, with great flavours. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very pleasant and relaxed. Highlights were the oyster, spaghetti and caviar amuse, the 'Eireyu' beef and the excellent chocolate soufflé. Irish elements (a squid ink and poteen 'baby Guinness' shot with the starter for example)... More

Booked for lunch, arrived on time, but menus weren't ready. An omen of things to come! 10mins later menus arrived. Pigs head pork starter, really tasty and unusual which was accompanied by a shot glass of squid ink, poteen and a creamy foam, delicious. Hake starter well cooked with nice touch of potato chip scales, broth that fish was in... More
