Looking for a place to get out of the rain and have lunch in Temple Bar, we came across The Shack. We were soon seated in pleasant surroundings and enjoyed a hearty meal provided by friendly and attentive staff. The sun was shining by the time we left, having been favourably impressed. We had to wait for a table but staff gave indication of wait time expected and didn't disappoint. Traditional Irish food home cooked....great quality and very tasty! Staff and service good.

I, along with my wife and daughter dined there on Tuesday May 26th. The Temple Bar area was very busy and the first three restaurants we checked were fully booked and we would have had to wait for over an hour. On arrival at the Shack we got a table and were encouraged when a diner leaving gave it the... More

We headed here based on a recommendation in Rick Steves 2015 Ireland tour book. He described a 3 course early bird menu for 19 Euros apiece which we thought reasonable.Seems that just since that book went to print, that menu or price is no longer available. They still offer an Early Bird menu but it is SMALL plates , hardly... More

The place was buzzing and we had to wait 5 minutes for a table, others after us waited for 30 minutes or so. We had an excellent choice of food, check out the menu on their website we also opted for mains of had Irish Stew, a shank of lamb, various vegetables, too much, we couldn't manage dessert !! We... An extensive range to choose from and very attentive service. It must be good because people were queuing up to get a table. Suitable for all tastes.

Not bad, but not good. Service is great, but food is not what you would expect here. You can find much better food in the surroundings.

We happened into this lovely restaurant and are so glad we did. The wait staff was attentive and as sweet as can be. The food, classic Irish fare - fish and chips and seafood chowder, were the best we have had in our 8 days in Ireland, and the ambiance of the restaurant was so nice. I highly recommend a... More

A good find for us after a disappointing holiday in Ireland. Plenty of options to choose from the menu and a surprisingly good wine list. Service was friendly and well paced. Not many complaints (mussels were on the small side and the risotto rice was not Arborio); food was tasty and the ambience lovely. I would recommend that you try... More

Directly across from the Temple Bar, this restaurant is its quiet neighbor. The bangers with ColCannon and the Traditional Irish Breakfast were great. The coffee was refreshing. Looking at the food other diners ordered, the fish and chips were very small portions, one could get a larger size fish & chips at Beshoffs for les money just without the ambience.
