Enjoyed late lunch at Stag's Head, 2-3 blocks from Grafton Street. Ordered a vegetarian sandwich, a Seafood Chowder, Fish & Chips with side salad...and flavored with some Smithwick's Pale Ale. Good, simple and tasty food served to about 6 pm when the kitchen closes. At least a dozen brewskies on tap. Craft beers are coming to Ireland. Friendly service though... More

Small, welcoming and fantastic decor! Lovely bar moments away from Temple Bar. Very traditional with great service, and pours a perfect Guinness!

Typical overpriced Guiness - two floors and a wonderful historic building... the original windows on the ground floor are amazing. Way too many people in there, it was beyond shoulder to shoulder. Even with the crush of the crowd, our barkeep was friendly and efficient. Would go back!

This was our fist pub we visited in Dublin. It was our daughter's 18th Birthday and her first pint of Guinness. It was awesome! I believe the very friendly blondes name was Lisa, she was very helpful with any questions we had about touring the city. We came in another time at night and the place is very relaxed and... More

First visited this atmospheric classic Victorian pub around 1999. Been 4 or 5 years since my last visit so popped in for a few pints to get back into character. Decided to have a late lunch while the rugby was on - good move as the bacon & cabbage was fantastic!. About 10.95 euros for a massive plate of smoked... More

We found the Stag's Head one of our first days and purposefully went back another for drinks and a meal. We were not disappointed. The service was good; the food and drinks were great. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

The Stag's Head is a beautiful old classic Victorian pub with dark woodwork and stained glass. The food is a cut above - the chips came with three sauces - pesto, garlic aioli, and Thai chili and our son savored great soup and bread. While not crowded, the patrons and staff were genuinely gracious, informative and fun.

Original old pub, how they used to be before the Celtic tiger. Full of snugs and cosy corners, if you're looking for a real Irish pub experience rather than a manufactured one, this is the place for you. Guinness here is possibly the best in the city.

I stopped there after a recommendation from the a friend, The pub is nice and differently decorated but nothing too special. only been there for a drink to soak the atmosphere which wasn't too bad although it was getting a little bit busy and it was very hard to move about.
