Traveled to Dublin with three other couple to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday as she was born there and hadn't returned after leaving at the age of 11 mo. Needless to say I wanted to make her birthday celebration an event and sought out suggestions from many people and decided on Shannahan's. It was GREAT. The ambiance, food and service... More

Ok, cards on the table time, Aware of the prices before we went, we came armed with vouchers. Good job too, as the bill was still eyewateringly large. For two of us. And we didn't go mad with wine- only 3 glasses. That said, however, the food is really really good (tbone steak and all the sides), the location immaculate... More

I've been here a few times over the last few years. Cant fault the steaks one bit - very "american style" with great wine list. Staff generally very good. One bad experience: My wife booked a surprise 40th birthday for me with all my friends waiting downstairs for me. We arrived at the reception area where we we're told that... More

This is fine dining. It was our favorite in all of Ireland. Excellent service that is warm and friendly.

There is no doubting the quality of this fine, up market restaurant, but the prices are just out of this world and only for the very rich. I actually used a voucher that I was lucky enough to get, hence the reason I was in a position to go, so it actually only cost me the price of a good... More

New York or Boston style steakhouse (i.e. big steaks + onion rings) but in a very high end fine dining type athmosphere (with very high end prices to match), this is for you. Geat bar underneath it. A favourite of US multi-national executives visiting their 'Irish HQ'. Very unlikely that you will get anywhere near finishing the size of steak... More

Myself and a friend decided to treat ourselves to their early bird. The menu was small but sufficient. The food was fresh and tasty and couldn't be faulted. I feel its overpriced and hence 4 stars rather than 5.

I have never eaten so much in my life as I ate in Shanahans. The main dishes are great but it was the side dishes that won me....I just couldn't stop eating, they were almost addictive. I would probably have eaten even more except it was a business meal. :-) Can't wait to go back. My only negative is it... More

My wife brought me here as a treat for my birthday. It is by no means cheap, but you definaey get what you pay for. Each course was delicious. I'd highly recommend this restaurant. Already looking forward o going back some day soon.
