On my bucket list for a while to go to Shanahan's and I was not disappointed!! Went two weeks before Christmas on a Saturday night. Great atmosphere in there, lots of families. The steak was better than I have ever had! Cant wait to go back.

Shanahans offers a five star dining experience with five star prices. The food could not be faulted ,generous portions perfectly seasoned. However I could not recommend Shanahans to anyone on a budget. It is luxury dining.

Coming into Shanahan's on The Green on a wet and windy evening, we were given a very warm welcome and our experience continued to be super. We had our pre dinner drinks in the cosy yet spacious basement. We dined in a small dining room upstairs. The table was circular which was ideal for family conversation. The food !!! How... More

It never ceases to amaze me that for a country which produces so much free range beef that much of what is served up in Irish restaurants is so mediocre. Well that cannot be said of Shanahans. I have been going for years and hope to keep going. I dined there just before Christmas on a very busy night and... More

Was intrigued to try out this famous eatery. Finally got to go and while I enjoyed my food and the service, and the pre dinner cocktails (which were the strongest concoctions I have ever had), it just was not worth the money it cost. €360 including a 10% tip for three people for 3 starters, 3 mains plus two sides... Surprise night out and we arrived at Shanahan's. From the miserable faces greeting us at front of house, I knew it was going to be hard going. Curt, rude, unwilling to help, we had it all. At one point in the meal, 5 mouthfuls in, we put of knifes and forks down in the 'rest' position, one waiter poured the... More

We visited on Tuesday night just before New Years eve. I had booked the Oval Office bar downstairs because I like the ambience and the upstairs restaurant is a bit olde World in my opinion. Food is great. steaks are soft and delicious and the Onion Strings , Chive Mash and French fries are great too. The wine list is... More

Attended a work Christmas lunch on Friday 19th December. Having organised the reservation myself I knew exactly what had been organised and agreed. Upon arrival I was accused of not letting the staff know of our final numbers (which I had). We were then squeezed onto one table as a consequence even though there were many available tables. The staff... More
