Large portions and great steaks

I enjoyed my birthday dinner at Shanahan's on the Green. I had always wanted to go but because of the price of the menus it was put on the long finger. We sat at a lovely very large table with comfy seats. The fresh bread was delicious and the starters were a good size. The fillet mignon steak was... read more

this place is way overpriced for what you get. We visited from New Jersey, trust me I've been to many great restaurants. Sure the Oval Office room is nice for a drink but nothing outstanding, JFKs rocking chair you can hardly see behind the bar. The food especially the steaks are just ok and all of ours came out undercooked.... More

Really enjoyed my pre concert meal here with the early bird, set menu option. Fabulous quality food and top class service in a sumptuous setting. Was really impressed that they had taken note of the fact that I was celebrating my 40th when I booked a few months back and gave my husband and I some bubbles with our petit... More

Brought my parents and sisters here for their birthdays, we we’re all looking forward to it. The fish dishes were superb and the steak was wonderful, then the vegetarian option arrived. I’ve been everywhere thoughout the world, eaten in all manor of restaurants and I can safely say I’ve never had such a revolting meal anywhere ever. Unfortunately words fail... More

This is the second time I have entertained here and what a wonderful choice. We booked a table in advance to avoid being disappointed. We started the evening with drinks in the lower bar, which is a lovely area before being shown to our table. The service is very good and the food simply amazing. Our table enjoyed Starters:- trio... If you are looking for atmosphere, then Shanahan's is fine. The food was mediocre at best. Steaks were cooked at the temperature that we ordered, but the quality and taste were nothing to write home about. The service was good, again nothing special. Prices were high for the quality of the food. Would not return.

This restaurant was recommended to us to visit on a recent trip to Dublin. it was close to our accommodation and although it was rather expensive we decided to treat ourselves - what a mistake!!! The steaks are very expensive and come with caramelised onions and nothing else! I had a fillet which, although I asked to be cooked medium... More

Previous to this meal, the last time I attempted to dine in Shanahan's was a number of years back, when we had made a reservation for my birthday a number of months in advance of the date. On that occasion, I received a call from the restaurant on the week of the booked table, stating that the entire restaurant had... More

We had meal here last Saturday evening. We were seated upstairs, quiet background music with few other noises so much so we felt the need to whisper for the evening. Starters of soup ( nice but not wonderful) and prawns ( delicious) were expertly served and presented. Our steaks, for such a renowned restaurant, we're just ok. Have had better... More

Best value in Early bird offers in Dublin @ €50 PP (given what you get). Four courses including 6 oz steak. Super food, expert service, beautiful room, extras such as hot bread served at the table, wine list not as bad you might think, treat yourself and enjoy! PS let them know if it's a birthday/special occasion and you will... More
