This is my favourite restaurant (and I have eaten in quite a few!). The standard of service is fantastic and the quality of the food is first class. It is on the expensive side but well worth it. The portions are huge!! I have eaten in this restaurant on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed.

I read about this place in an interview with Will Farrell, who said it was his favorite restaurant in Dublin. Unfortunately, I read about it I think in the airline magazine on our way back, after leaving Dublin the last time. So I wanted to be sure to try to eat here sometime on another trip. I was so pleased... More

I have been lucky enough to eat in this restaurant on several occasions and it is renowned as the top steak house in Ireland. I am a keen meat eater and I really appreciate top class service so I was drawn to Shanahans. The restaurant has a fabulous location beside Stephens Green. On entry the dining are has a pretty... Visited here with family of 7....we go once a year and each year is as good as the last. It is a steak house extraordinaire! Bread and muffin to start always kick off a fab meal but be warned...don't fill up on these. We ordered 7 steaks...a mix between the filet mignon and the 24oz bone-in rib eye. All cooked... More

Went to Shanahan's twice on business, every time was better than the one before. Service was impeccable, starters were great and very generous and so was the bread. And the steaks, oh my god the steaks...cooked to perfection each and every one of them, accompanied by great selection of sides. A must visit if you're ever in Dublin.

Style, elegance, crisp white tables cloths, this place is THE place for a special occasion. I had a fillet steak which was cooked to perfection and my partner had a rib eye, also delicious. I loved the amuse-Boucher and all those little touches which make for a special time. Even by Dublin standards this is pretty pricey, but hey! We... More

I was looking for an extra special restaurant to toast my son's exam success and decided to opt for Shanahans as I had heard so many excellent reviews. That was 4 years ago and it has become the venue for all of our family celebrations and special treats. Where possible, we avail of the very generous 'Specials' which are available... More

Great cellar bar for pre dinner drinks. Food is excellent, recommend the slab of onion rings, to go with the steak

I really enjoyed the food and service of this restaurant! I believe you'd have a hard time finding a better steak anywhere. Downstairs is the bar they call The Oval Office. The history of the United States is unreal with all the documents on the walls, John F. Kennedy's rocking chair fro Airforce One sits encased behind the bar. Truly... More

Upon arrival in Dublin we asked the taxi driver for a few tips, he went through a range of restaurants and venues and when it came to steak he placed Shanahan's at the top of the list, but said it was pricey by Dublin standards. When we got to our hotel the Concierge also had this venue at the top... More
