Mistake with Birthday booking - no apology

I would very much like to leave a review outlining the lovely food, fantastic wine, relaxing ambiance etc etc. However, I cant. Why not? Well because Shanahans made a mistake with our booking for Saturday night (I am writing this on Thursday evening). Ordinarily I would be annoyed but not entirely... read more

From the reception to departure this restaurant really is an experience. The service is excellent, the food superb and the wine...well prepared to smile. When i think of a dining experience and some of the best steak i have ever had, this venue is certainly top of my list. If i had one suggestion, they could maybe work on their... More

went for dinner last night, to celebrate a birthday. I had the shrimps to start, 5 king prawns surrounding a small clump of mixed veg, with a lemon based sauce. tasty, but hardly worth 20 euro. She had the scallops, three medium size scallops seared nicely, again looked small for 20 euro. the steaks are huge, from 8 oz up... More

Had my husbands birthday dinner here. Fabulous restaurant with a relaxed feel. Service is excellent as is the food. Starters are very tasty and quite decent in size. Their fresh bread is beautiful. We both had steak which was amazing! Warning....the portions are huge so make sure your hungry. The side dishes are also absolutely massive and each dish would... More

We were here on Saturday 7th Feb. a very warm welcome on arrival, very friendly and helpful. We dined upstairs first floor, beautiful room with a lovely fire, very cosy. Staff were very professional, extremely courteous. The food was up to its usual five star standard. Not cheap, but then neither was the quality of the food and service. Full... More

Went here this evening with my husband to celebrate a "special " birthday. From start to finish the experience was amazing. I am heavily pregnant and I couldn't believe that the gentleman in the bar offered me a cushion for my back when I came in. There was also a cushion waiting for me at the table upstairs - incredible... More

I know that dining out is such a subjective experience but I had such high expectations of Shanahans that I was somewhat underwhelmed by the experience. Don't get me wrong. it was certainly good (but then again it would need to be at the prices they charge) but I didn't feel that it was exceptional. Maybe it was me or... More

On my bucket list for a while to go to Shanahan's and I was not disappointed!! Went two weeks before Christmas on a Saturday night. Great atmosphere in there, lots of families. The steak was better than I have ever had! Cant wait to go back.

Shanahans offers a five star dining experience with five star prices. The food could not be faulted ,generous portions perfectly seasoned. However I could not recommend Shanahans to anyone on a budget. It is luxury dining.
