Oysters with Bechamel

Went there for a romantic meal and was not disappointed. Had the oysters and béchamel sauce. It was recommended by a waiter from a different restaurant and I was extremely glad he did.

Went to Shanahans for the special menu on Tuesday evening. Unreal value for money! Starter options are limited but after that course it's brilliant. Had the salmon for starter and sirloin steak for main! Nicest piece of meat I've ever tasted! Served with spinach, mash and crispy onions. So nice! We then got petit fours with happy anniversary written on... More

This is one of the best restaurants in Dublin. It is a American steak house and the food and staff are amazing. This resturant is my favourite in Dublin. I had oyaters to start and then the steak. The cookies and creams cheese cake is amazing.

From the delicious garlic, cheese, & olive bread, to the Oysters Rockefeller, to the Filet Mignon topped with fois gras, it was a superb dinner in a beautiful elegant restaurant across from the Stephen's square. Could not have been better- with excellent service!

Easily the best steakhouse in Dublin - done in the classic Boston style but with very high end styling and really high quality food. Great bar in the basement (leather armchairs etc) for pre and/or post dinner drinks, with full waiter service (like being in a private member club). Full range of steaks, onion rings and fries etc. with also... More

This Resturant is one of my favourites, fantastic steak with sides to die for.. Must try the creamed spinach and stringed onions. Savoury muffins and home Baked bread to start. The Oval Office for cocktails is a treat as a before or after drink. Lovely setting and wonderful Georgian style red rock overlooking the green makes for an amazing evening.

I reckon it's the best steak i've had in Dublin but boy is it expensive. It's definitely five star dining, but you pay a price for each star!!!! Worth the price for a special occassion though!

We had the early bird menu, bread starters, steak , dessert, no compliants. Sides of mashed potatoes And creamed spinach I would describe as baby food, Onions were ok. I think the sides let the meal down. Service was excellent. Extremely warm in the restaurant no air at all to the point after a lovely meal of feeling nauseated.

My friends and I make a point of dining at Shanahan's every time we are in Dublin, most recently on 6/5/15. As always, the staff was attentive and knowledgeable, including making excellent recommendations concerning choices from the well-rounded wine list. And, all of the appetizers and sides and desserts were great. But it's the steak selection and preparation that keep... More
