Traditional "Irish/UK" Italian restaurant.

Had dinner here last week. Not, by any means, for the first time. A consistently good traditional Italian restaurant; traditional at least in the sense that it is (and long has been) the sort of Italian restaurant "traditional" in Ireland and the UK. Food and service was very good. Quite upmarket atmosphere. Perfect for a special meal out. Only downside was that there was no pizza on the menu which was what we actually had in mind. Still plenty to choose from on the menu and we both had great pasta dishes

On a recent trip to Dublin, my husband and I returned to Nico's. It had been several years since we'd been there, but we experienced the same great service and our favourite dishes were as good as ever. Likewise, the decor does not appear to have changed at all, giving it a slightly retro feel of stepping into a cosy,... More

We went here the Friday night before Christmas and it was very busy. We still got very good food and excellent service. We had not been to this restaurant for years and it still has the great atmosphere it always had. There was a great buzz in the place.

Started with the prawn cocktail, fresh prawns I might add, very good and then had the breaded veal, and finished with a tiramisu, great selection of affordable wines, waiter was friendly and helpful, enjoyed it all and loved the pianist playing in the background.

We visited Nicos recently after a long absence, Thankfully it has not changed much. Food and drink very nice but not cheap. Service excellent. As it is in the Christmas season the normal lunch menu was not available Will return soon.

This like comfortable pair of slippers. One of the Dublins beloved old comfortable restaurants serving Italian food in the old style. White linen on the tables and a pianist playing softly in the background. I almost always have the same choice, minestrone and a sirloin steak with spinach and sauté potatoes. It's hard to experiment here when the old reliables... More

Traditional Italian restaurant serving very good traditional Italian food. Lovely ambience , excellent service, nice piano music in the background . Liqueurs on the house at the end of the meal was a very nice touch.
