We chose Nico's in the Temple Bar neighborhood (with its many bars) for being not noisy and smoke-filled. The air smelled fresh. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was tasty. The added delight is the accompaniment of live piano music for three hours a night (Wed-Sun).

Went to Nicos last Saturday as my husband fancied some Italian food. Its been opened in Dame Street since the 60's.I do think it's exterior lets it down but the inside is spotless and I do like to see crisp white tablecloths. Its also nice to have Italian waiters serving you and to hear them chating to each other in Italian. It was great! The cassata is still on the dessert menu and as good as I remembered it! Love the new extended menu and house wines are excellent, very friendly and helpful staff especially with food allergies, I recommend the beautiful Dublin mussels in white wine as an entree

The standout dish forever here is the Fresh Scampi lightly fried with wafer thin crisply sautéed potatoes and lashings of tartar sauce. Pastas are good enough if not quite the level they used to be but perhaps steer clear of the Risotto which they need to take a serious look at. All in all one of the best in Dublin.

Had lunch here today and as ever the food and the service were top class! Two of us had the best scampi in Dublin. From previous visits I can vouch for the rest of the menu as well!

this restaurant serves wonderful traditional Italian food. Don't expect trendy or flashy surroundings but if you want good food well cooked this is the place to go. The waiters are professional and polite and the restaurant is clean and comfortable.

Lovely meal in this old long-established restaurant - well known to locals and not touristy. Good place to meet up with friends. Nice staff.
