good food at a great price

If you want a taste of the local fish and chips this is the place to go. Great food at a great price. Costs way less than at an eat in restaurant. Helpful hint take it with you and sit and enjoy it at the nearby park by Christchurch Cathedral

We visited the carry-out location near Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin (2 Werburgh St). They have a sign on the door listing all the famous people that have eaten at Leo Burdock's including Bono, Leonard Scott, Sandra Bullock, etc. Don't be fooled. We had their original fish and chips. The fish was greasy and burned a bit on the outside,... More

There are the types of places one visits due to the hype, history, or some combination of the two. This is one of those places. The portions are large, and it is always great to visit local establishments with long histories. But one visit was enough. The fish and chips are wrapped in large paper packages before being stuffed into... More

Okay maybe I expected a bit too much from all the reviews and title, but I have to say, I wasn't particularly impressed. I couldn't really find the salt and vinegar anywhere either. The chips were a bit dried and soggy, and although the fish was really crunchy, the batter was quite thick, causing the inner part of the batter... More

Best in where? Ok, it was tasty. The portion was huge. I liked the decidedly simple “wrap it in paper and go find a place to eat it” approach. It was memorable, and good, but incredibly greasy. The chips weren’t, but my fish was. It’s expected, but was a bit much for my palate. I won’t likely eat there again,... More

My sisters and my first day in Dublin had to have fish and chips ... We were told these were the best. They were good and the portion size was great. Next time we will share one order. Not sure I would make a special trip to get Leo Burdocks.

Great fish and chips, huge portions, good price. Perfect for sharing. Go sit on the lawn at St. Patrick's to eat.

I was looking forward to trying the highly touted Leo Burdocks during my recent trip to Dublin but unfortunately it just didn't make the grade. It wasn't busy either but the fry staff were sure partying up cheerfully behind the counter! The chips were undercooked, although it does seem like they were done in fresh oil and the fish was... We had experienced an amazing fish and chips the night before at a nearby restaurant and thought we'd try our Leo burdocks because it had a slightly cheaper fish and chips... this was a mistake.. The fish was not fresh as advertised, it was chewy and very obviously frozen. The chips were soggy and fried in old oil. All of... More
