A Pleasant Surprise

I visited here last Saturday, I had bought a Rewarding Times voucher for a three course meal for two including a bottle of house wife. I had read good things about the chef and the food. The first impression as we approached was not great, it looked small with a bar area and seating. We were... read more

I usually write only good reviews - "if you don't have anything good to say, then don't say anything at all" - but I feel I must write about our experience at this restaurant. Six of us planned a day ahead to get a dinner and then get to the Theater by 7:00 p.m. to see "The Field". We were... More

We spent two nights at a nearby hotel and ended up eating dinner at Il Primo because it was close by and their reviews were impressive. 1st Mistake: - we did not have reservations and we were told they were booked when we walked in the door. We said no problem - and turned around to leave - we were... More

We had a voucher and usually expect that we will be treated accordingly. However we were pleasantly surprised. The food was plentiful, and beautifully presented by a very professional waitress. The wine, although there was only a choice of one red or one white, was really very good. The only downside in Il Primo, and we have been here before,... More

I read the reviews on this site before I went for my meal with my RT voucher. I was concerned, to say the least. However, to those of you who still have their vouchers, I would like to allay your fears. I had a very pleasant meal, in the main dining room, with great service. We opted for the early... More

Remembered the Il Primo of old and bought a rewarding times voucher to re-experience. Bad mistake. Was told could only have a table from 5:15 on a Friday evening till 19:15 - don't know why the place was empty and remained so for a good hour and a half. Menu not great but food was awful - any italian should... More

Had a rewarding times voucher. We were shown to a basic room removed from the main dining room. There was one other couple in the room so there was no real atmosphere. Food was good, even though the portions were small. Could have done with some bread to soak up sauce. When we were leaving, the 'real' dining room was... More

I visited this restaurant Saturday 14th March. I had a voucher and was told on the phone I could only use it at 5 or 9.30 on a Saturday night which I was a little upset about. I decided to make a 9.30 reservation and I arrived at the Restaurant at 8.00pm to advise I was near by and when... More

Had a Rewarding Times voucher - on Fridays/Saturdays only usuable at 5pm or 9 pm so we went midweek. We were showed to a dimly lit dreary basic room at the top of the stairs although a nicer area was completly empty. Voucher cost €69 supposedly worth €137 - not even good value at €69 - included wine retailing at... More
