I dined very recently with a very good friend in IL Baccaro. We availed of the pre-theatre menu which gave great choice & value for money. The meal was served in a very timely manner allowing adequate time between courses. Our waiter was both professional & friendly and seated us close to a radiator as the night was rather cool.... I am Italian and went to this restaurant as it was recommended to me by some friends in the past. I was told it does excellent fish dishes and also looking at the picture here in tripadvisor I was expecting seafood linguine, calamari, mussels etc. The menu instead was mostly meat based with very little vegetarian choice and no fish... Went here as the ferry was delayed by 6 hours so needed to have dinner. Went with colleagues. I found the vegetarian options somewhat limited. Olive starter was great, but the pasta based main course was all sauce and no pasta. Given the size of one of my colleagues' seafood dish, I felt a bit short-changed. He was actually disappointed... Myself and my wife went here on New Years eve at around 8pm to get out of town before 12. We had been here around 7 years ago and had a good experience back then. I have to say we were not dissappointed this time either. We didn't like the table we were given and were moved to a better... More

I am italian and I have been there twice. Food is not great, not much choice in the menu, price is way too expensive, house wine taste like cheap wine you would find in supermarkets for less than half of the price they make you pay. Staff was great at the first even though they made us change the table... More

The food, the staff, the location, it was wonderful. Do not miss this opportunity while in Dublin. Located in a Wine Cellar like building below street level, we enjoyed everything about this restaurant.

Stubbled across this place by chance and what a great restaurant it is. Such amazing atmosphere with the exposed brickwork. Food was great, all of us really enjoyed what we ordered - especially the garlic and chilli broccoli side dish and the Panna Cotta! The service was good too and I highly recommend this place.

I ate here for the first time with a friend of mine last week. The restaurant is lovely with a really good atmosphere and it feels very authentic Italian. We only got main courses and happened to get the same dish which was very tasty (the chicken dish). I ordered a portion of bread and as my friend is coeliac,... More

Lovely food and nice restaurant. My friends and I had a meal here last Friday. We did struggle to find the place, it is a bit hidden away but the food was worth it. Not the best location but lovely food and friendly staff. Nice decor.
