Welcome to Il Baccaro Restaurant based in temple bar Dublin. An Eighteenth century wine merchant’s cellar in the heart of Dublin hosts this atmospheric Italian tavern since 1997. A romantic restaurant and wine bar tucked into a secluded corner in Meeting House Square. Authentic Italian food is the order of the day and this charming taverna is a hit with native Italians across the city.

Even tourist traps have nice restaurants

I have visited il Baccaro a few times over the last 15 years. It used to call itself Sicilian, but now it is just Italian. I would probably avoid most restaurants in Temple Bar, but this one is well worth a visit. While it lies in the most visited area of Dublin, because it is hiding a bit under... read more

Limited menu with no flexibility, dreadful, slow service - when good Finally arrived (despite only being 3 other occupied tables) it was mediocre at best - bland, boring and not much else to say except overpriced in every department. So disappointing for our last night in Dublin.

Went here on a weekend trip with my friends to Dublin and we all agree that we probably won't return. When we got seated I was unimpressed by the menu being small and not offering much. Many of the dishes seemed very similar to eachother which didn't give you a lot of choice. There were 3 tables (as there were... More

We were reminded of trips to Venice! The service was excellent. The staff were charming and attentive. The food was perfectly prepared with a genuine Italian flavour It was exactly what we wanted and we would recommend this restaurant. Ask for Francisco!!

This quaint restaurant occupies an arched brick former win cellar. We had fresh pasta ( spaghetti with shrimp and egg pappardelle with vegetables perfectly al dente. My Caprese salad sported melt in the mouth mozzarella. Service was prompt and attentive. Too bad this is our last night in Dublin!!

A nice little italian restaurant tucked away in Temple Bar. Normally I never eat in Temple Bar, it is for the tourists on their first night in Dublin, but this is the exception. I have been there several times and enjoy the food, wine and atmosphere. Excellent steak.

We visited here on a Saturday night - it was full and we had to wait for a table but they were very accommodating, kept us updated and brought us drinks outside while we waited. All the staff were lovely and friendly. The service wasn't the quickest as they were so busy (with some big tables of hen parties etc)... More

If you're looking for authentic Italian food in Dublin, go to Il Baccaro. I cannot applaud this restaurant enough. Beautiful interior, kind waitstaff, and outstanding food! On a Friday night, this restaurant was not jam packed. In fact, only one family and a few couples were inside, but it had a charming and quaint feel that made the dining experience... More

We went there our last night in Dublin without a reservation and had no trouble getting a table. The food was really good, the service was good too. Prices seemed slightly high, but this in the Temple Bar section so to be expected. My fettuccini was homemade and delicious.

Just back home but still have the marvellouse taste of the incredible meal I had in Il Baccaro. The 'saltimbocca alla romana' were simply brilliant! Highly reccomended
