I wish I could eat here every day

We came here on the way to the airport. We wanted to try a boxty before we left Ireland altogether, and we definitely were not disappointed. It was barely past the time they were open, and although the hostess couldn't get us food to go, she had us served very quickly, split up our chicken and... read more

In the middle of tampel bar, and as expected gallagher's caters to tourists.   The atmosphere was pleasant, the service was efficient, the food was eatable but tended to be on the bland side.   It is definitely overrated by TripAdvisor.     I would rank it above average but not very good.   The price was around €25 pp.... Absolutely lovely restaurant with great staff! (Martin gave us some great bars & clubs tips) 3 course of AMAZING food for 25 euro pp was extremely reasonable! I has a luscious Boxty of Irish stew, which was scrummy! Loved the quaint décor and real traditional feel and general friendly atmosphere. Definitely recommend!!

Came here on a fri night, was busy, so you may want to book in advance like we did. As we entered we were warmly greeted and shown our table. The staff were so friendly and helpful, they really made the evening enjoyable. The food was very nice, i recommend the chilli boxty for mains, was very good! also the... More

I don't know if the 'boxty pancakes' are an Irish tradition, and I don't really care! The food is ok and certainly fills a hole, I had the cured beef boxty pancake. The service is really good, and the food is also priced very reasonably. To be entirely honest the reason I have awarded 4 and not 3 out of... More

Thanks for taking the time to review us on Tripadvisor, we are so pleased that you found a warm welcome at the Boxty House. That is indeed what we feel makes us genuinely Irish along with our food, which was unfortunate to hear you did not enjoy as much as we would have liked you to. Boxty has been made... More

I have tried the "full Irish breakfast" at many establishments and have always found Gallagher's to be a cut above the rest.

Great food. Great beer, one of the few places we found Murphy's. Overall experience heightened by the wonderful staff.

We had a late lunch there with my partner, no table booked, but we were greeted and promptly seated. The atmosphere of this place is just what I like, a cottage feeling to it with irish music in the background and a feeling of warmness. We ordered several dishes and the food was really nice. The only negative point was... More

Thank you for taking the time to review Gallagher's Boxty House. This is the type of review we find so infuriating! We ticked all the boxes with food, atmosphere and music and let ourselves down by not paying enough attention to you. On a late afternoon in January, our team should have enough time to spend with all our guests.... More

My son and I had dinner in Gallagher's Boxty House and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience - The decor was traditional and you get a great Irish experience. 2 adults and 2 children (13 and 20) went for an evening meal. All 4 of us really enjoyed it. Not sure about the authenticity of the menu ( we're English) but it it seemed right (lots of potato!) and we thought it was spot on .
