Scrumptious food and great location!

I had one of the best corned beef meals I've ever had at Boxty! While my friends were dining on the restaurant's signature potato-based fare, I was enjoying my meat cut. Drinks, appetizers, desserts...everything here was excellent, as is the location. We had a seat right in a window with only a... read more

We were given this recommendation from a local lady we sat next to on the plane over and glad we listened! Yummy food (I had a boxty platter as I couldn't decide!). Highly recommended as a change from overcrowded tourist places!

Called in here during the day to book a table for that same evenig (which I would recommend you do as it was very busy) Really great welcome, lovely atmosphere and excellent food. The Boxty is a great way to experience real Irish food in the centre of buzzing Temple Bar. Don't let the location put you off if you... More

This restaurant is located in the Temple Bar but you do have to look for it as you can easily pass it if you are looking around. The decor inside is simple. We tried different items..the boxty fries are awesome but be aware that an order easily feeds several people as a side. I didn't care for the plain boxty..the... More

This is the first eaterie I've disagreed with Rick Steeves' recommendation. Weeknight dinner. Seated in basement..... felt neglected and abandoned. NO atmosphere down there either. Uninspining menu. College daughter tried the boxty (potato)....so-so. Not a memorable evening

boxtys are a sort of sandwich/crepe, and when done well, are delicious. this place makes great fillings, has good service and a nice ambiance, and was good enough for a return trip during our week's visit to dublin. recommended.

The food was good here but found the staff quite rude. The waiter was quite blunt throughout the night. Even rolled his eyes at us as we were leaving and saying thank you. Left me feeling quite disappointed.

We were lucky enough to get a table for 10 the day before we wanted to eat here. Every single meal that we were served was excellent. from the fish and chips to the slow roasted lamb boxty. We loved it!
