Following the recommendations on tripadvisor, I booked a table for a romantic rendez-vous. The quality of the food was of high standard, the service was outstanding and fast. I would definitely recommend it, especially to tourists who can taste the Irish cuisine in its finest form. However, a lot of tables are joined together and, therefore, it's probably a better... Recommended to us by a local, we tried it out. Had to wait but well worth it. I had the Irish stew and my friend had trad corned beef. The starter was a farmhouse pate , absolutely divine. Very friendly helpful staff. Portions so large we did not eat dessert.

As a lacto-ovo vegetarian, I don't have great expectations for vegetarian food when traveling, certainly nothing like I found during my 40 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. So I was very pleasantly surprised when I found Boxty House in Dublin. I had the most delightfully creative and delicious assortment of potato dishes, all oozing Irish tradition, and all... More

Because we were a group we were offered a special short menu. The choice was limited and when the food arrived it seemed treadmilled rather than prepared. We were asked to choose our desert with starters and main "in case it took time to prepare specially" our options were a slice of chocolate cake, a slice of cheesecake or a... More

The food was nice & the service was friendly and the prices didn't make my eyes pop out. You can get a 2 for 1 meal deal with your ticket from citysightseeing tours.

We loved this place. The food was amazing and after traveling all over Europe being gluten free, it was so nice to visit a place that had so many options on their menu. Everything was fantastic.

We went to The Boxty House on the last evening ( 2/7/14) of our 3 day Dublin City break on the recommendation of my staff. We had just finished watching Riverdance at the Gaeity Theatre and were looking for somewhere to go for our post theatre dinner. I am very pleased that we went. Our waiter, Michael, was excellent. He... More

Overall I had a great experience at this place - but the food quality wasn't representing. We were welcomed by a classicly good looking Irish guy - I am heterosexual, but still appreciated it. He was dead nice and sat myself and my girlfriend down. The waiter was so so so nice... gave us water to start off with and... More

We ate at Gallaghers Boxty House on the recommendation of a friend. There were 4 of us and we had the 3 course set menu which was about 25 Euros each. The food was very good but very, very creamy and rich. Definitely worth a visit but just have a main course! Lovely surroundings and a good atmosphere, we didn't... More

Friendly service, great food in a cozy restaurant located in a lively section of the Temple Bar area. My sister even forgot her camera on the table - they held it and sent it to our hotel the next day. Our party ordered 2 different boxty dishes, beef and chicken and both were delicious, I had the baked salmon and... More
