Chose Boxty House because wanted to try some traditional irish food and it was also recommended by trip advisor. We had a great service from Mike and the foods are nice. Worth the price as well.

We’d had Boxtys, formerly called Gallagher’s Boxty House, recommended to us. The restaurant is simply decorated, and has a cosy welcoming feel! We were seated without a reservation on a busy Sunday afternoon. We ordered the Seafood Chowder, and the Smoked Salmon and Crabmeat starter. For our mains we ordered the Chicken Boxty (Pancakes with Chicken, Leak and Ham), the... More

Me, the better half and the future of our genes (the 3 kidneys) ventured out into Dublin City yesterday for our annual Christmas trip and when the hunger pangs came on, we were close to the Boxty House. Unusually I thought for the day that was in it....there were a number of free tables and in the absence of any... More

This was the first place we ate upon our arrival in Dublin and after tasting their beef stew, I didn't think any food would compare to how nice it was! And I was correct? It was delicious. The place was lovely and quaint inside with really friendly staff who showed an interest. I have even been converted to whiskey with... More

Everything about this place was very satisfying, the food and service were fantastic, the price is reasonable, and the atmosphere was great. We wanted somewhere that had Irish food, and the Boxty house did not disappoint. Definitely get booked in here if you're in Temple Bar and you're looking for some traditional Irish cuisine!

Stopped by Boxty for dinner for two on a city break not really knowing what to expect. The food though was absolutely brilliant, the stout was superb and the service from Jules was friendly, informative and attentive in a way that sets them apart from the competition. The meal was distinctively Irish and when we return to Dublin we will... More

I love this place, I was excited to be back in Dublin and going here. The food was still as good as ever and the service is personal and friendly. Great attentive staff that engage with you and make you feel welcome. We even bought some boxty mix so we can make them at home. Will be back !

This is an excellent restaurant. Perfect dinner to end up our weekend brake in Dublin. We have ordered their famous Gaelic boxty and they did cock and deliver it as per our preference. Goes well with amber ale. Enjoy. Also, waiter (Wayne I guess) was very friendly.
