Had late lunch at the Boxty House in July before the Leonard Cohen concert. had wonderful memories of good food at a reasonable price from a previousd trip to Dublin. Really disappointed with the quality of the food on this visit - the bean filling with the pancake was like something out of a tin and mu dining partner's "steak"... more

Disguised (to us foreigners) as bacon on the menu, this is an incredible piece of meat. I'm not a fan of white gravy, but the parskley sauce was good & after an hour into the meal, the (remaining) skin underneath still shattered with a good rap of the knife (or fork, if no one's nearby). The skin is an Irish... more

I couldn't wait to get home to write this review so I thought I would do it while I was still in Ireland. I went here with my friend the day we landed and he said I had to try the "boxty". I got the chicken one and I must say it was a great way to start of my... more

Two friends and I went to Gallagher's Boxty House on Saturday 5th December. We all absolutely loved it! We booked the week before - really glad we did so, as it was booked out for the whole night and so many people were coming in and asking for tables! We had to wait about 10 minutes for out table, but... more

Really tasty traditional Irish food with modern touches; good selection for vegetarians. Well worth coming here for breakfast. A bit cramped when busy, but that's the price of popularity. more

Strangely enough it was hard to find a restaurant serving traditional irish food in Dublin, but the Boxty House does! Cozy, intimate atmosphere. Crowded place (in the good sense), good food and good service! Try it! more

Utilizing the internet;I made reservations before leaving the USA. Our table was ready, service was prompt, but not rushed. But the best was we were there @6pm and "early bird" prices were in effect. more

I love this restaurant, there is something for everyone. The menu is a traditional one. A boxty is a traditional pancake and the fillings are "to die for". Nothing is too much trouble for the cheerful staff. The only drawback is that the restaurant is "cosy". There is always a queue at peak hours so reserve your table the day... more

Had a work night out at Gallagher's last night. Was fearing that it'd be twee & ersatz for the transatlantic tourists with average food, but I was pleasantkly surprised. My meal was excellent and the service very good. The chicken liver pate starter was pretty good though the cranberry was a bit sharp, I though. The Hereford steak for the... more

After a week touring Ireland, we had our last dinner at Gallaghers. We felt like it gave us a real Irish feel with the boisterous crowded restaurant and the unique Irish Boxty food. The Boxty is an Irish potato pancake wrapped around various choices of filling. Strongly recommend the Gaelic Boxty (beef, white sauce with Irish whisky and mushrooms). This... more
