Description: Chameleon in Temple Bar is an intimate, ambient restaurant that specialises in Indonesian rice-table. Rice table (or rijst-tafel) is when the diner is served an array of sumptuous different dishes, at the same time, from confit of pork belly with star anise to free range chicken satay to our delicious desserts, all made in-house! Its almost like Indonesian tapas!Since opening in 1994, its owners, husband and wife team, Carol & Kevin have made a point in using as much locally sourced Irish produce as possible, including only using free range Irish chicken and locally caught, seasonal Irish fish.Chameleon is ideal for a romantic get together or indeed, for your birthday party or Christmas party, as they can cater for groups of up to 40 in our private dining rooms.Winning may awards over the years in 2013 the Chameleon was voted Best World Cuisine in Ireland by the highly acclaimed Restaurants Association of Ireland

Great food and service. The rijst tafels are great - lots of small dishes, I love the veggie one. Try the pisang gorang for dessert.

We dined here as part of our 24 hours in Dublin on 29th of December. A very small restaurant located on a side street between Temple Bar and the Quays. It serves Indian Food but with a Dutch twist. There are set menus and you pick a specific menu. All dishes are brought at once to your table. Could not... More

The Chameleon Restaurant in Fownes is one of my favourite restaurants in Dublin .The food , which is mainly Indonesian , is thoroughly delicious . It has a spiciness that is more aromatic than hot allowing the diner to taste the ingredients . The wonderful taster menus give one the opportunity to explore a wide range of the food .... More

We went to this restaurant this week and really like the atmosphere and the service. The food was also really tasty. It's a perfect place to go as a couple. ****************************************************************************************************************************************************

We were a group of six friends and colleagues who spent New Years Eve around one of Chameleons low tables sitting on cushions, and ordered loads of their mixed meals - which covered the entire table with all sorts of tasty food, for everyone to try whatever they liked, from seafood to meat, chicken and vegetarian. The service was impeccable,... More

Visited the Chameleon on New Year's Eve with another couple. When we booked they only had the 'low' tables, which we said this would be fine. When we arrived one of the group decided they couldn't get comfortable, so we asked to move to a high table. Despite us changing our minds on a busy night, the staff couldn't have... More

Went here for Christmas party with friends. Despite not booking that far in advance the staff were very prompt in getting back to me with options, and were very accommodating in the fact that we didn't have a definite number to reserve for, taking a can-do approach to things. They were also very understanding and considerate of us after there... More

Although we had not booked we were told that a table would be made available for us in 15 minutes. My wife asked if we could have a pre-dinner drink while the table was being prepared. We were told that there was not room for us. So, are options were to wait outside (sub-zero temp), twiddle our thumbs (teeth chattering!)... More

Service was a little slow, but friendly and the menu was explained well. On the night we visited upstairs was full with some large groups and this may explain the slow service somewhat. Downstairs we were the only diners so the atmosphere was a little thin. Food was surprisingly a little bland (I've been here before several times but it's... More

Dear Reviewer we are sorry to hear you were a little disappointed, in relation to our prices we have reduced them twice over the last 3 years and are barely breaking even. As we use only quality free-range chicken/eggs, locally sourced beef and pork and sustainable Irish fish we do have to keep an eye on portioning and waste, however,... More
