Description: Chameleon in Temple Bar is an intimate, ambient restaurant that specialises in Indonesian rice-table. Rice table (or rijst-tafel) is when the diner is served an array of sumptuous different dishes, at the same time, from confit of pork belly with star anise to free range chicken satay to our delicious desserts, all made in-house! Its almost like Indonesian tapas!Since opening in 1994, its owners, husband and wife team, Carol & Kevin have made a point in using as much locally sourced Irish produce as possible, including only using free range Irish chicken and locally caught, seasonal Irish fish.Chameleon is ideal for a romantic get together or indeed, for your birthday party or Christmas party, as they can cater for groups of up to 40 in our private dining rooms.Winning may awards over the years in 2013 the Chameleon was voted Best World Cuisine in Ireland by the highly acclaimed Restaurants Association of Ireland

We had not heard of Chameleon in Temple Bar until recently even tough it is there since 1994, a good testament to the fact that they are providing good food at reasonable prices with friendly, efficient service. And that is what we found last weekend when four of us arrived for an evening out. They specialise in Rijst Tefel which... More

We showed up here with a group of 10 without reservations and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us and sat us within 10 minutes, on a busy Friday night. Food was delicious, reasonably priced and the service was great. We loved the decor of the restaurant. Highly recommended.

Ate here on Valentine's Day with my girlfriend. Having booked late and been squeezed in by the lovely Carol we were given a lovely table downstairs with a nice view out to Temple Bar. For those who haven't eaten here, I would certainly try it out. We were treated to a huge array of flavors and dishes all served at... More

The food was great, but it is indeed a bit expensive. On the first floor they you can seat on an indonesian room. Not sure how real the decoration is but still the atmosphere is great. They specialize in Rijst- Tafel, We had the vegetarian as part of the early menu and the Komodo and both were amazing specially the... More

Never had Indonesian cuisine before. I have nothing bad to say. We just popped in, got a table, were quickly explained through the menu, served the food, ate our bellys full, paid, thank you and off to see some live music. Happy evening.

We found this restaurant by accident, but what a find! Cosy, amazing menu. Lots of really great unusual food, all really tasty. Friendly staff. Would recommend this restaurant if you are looking for something a bit different in Temple Bar.

Nice small restaurant off temple bar serving good quality fresh food from locally sourced suppliers. Went for the early bird and were not disappointment, staff were excellent and explained the concept and different dishes. We had a low table and enjoyed the relaxing comfy cushions. A nice meal and pleasant dining experience.
