Description: Chameleon in Temple Bar is an intimate, ambient restaurant that specialises in Indonesian rice-table. Rice table (or rijst-tafel) is when the diner is served an array of sumptuous different dishes, at the same time, from confit of pork belly with star anise to free range chicken satay to our delicious desserts, all made in-house! Its almost like Indonesian tapas!Since opening in 1994, its owners, husband and wife team, Carol & Kevin have made a point in using as much locally sourced Irish produce as possible, including only using free range Irish chicken and locally caught, seasonal Irish fish.Chameleon is ideal for a romantic get together or indeed, for your birthday party or Christmas party, as they can cater for groups of up to 40 in our private dining rooms.Winning may awards over the years in 2013 the Chameleon was voted Best World Cuisine in Ireland by the highly acclaimed Restaurants Association of Ireland

Hubby & I decided to try Indonesian food in Dublin as we are huge fan of Indonesian food or the Dutch call it rijsttafel. The place looks cosy and staff are attentive. We ordered the same 20 Euro set menu each. The serving for other dishes arrives for two people with the exception of the dish called 'Asinan' looks more... More

I had been meaning to visit this restaurant for some time after recommendations from friends and finally had dinner there a few nights ago. We were not disappointed - food and atmosphere were both excellent - staff helpful but not too intrusive !! If I had one negative it was the temperature . It was a warm humid night and... More

Me and my boyfriend were looking for some tapas style food for dinner when I came across this place on the internet. We went on a Tuesday evening, didn't make a reservation, and had no problems getting a table. The menu consists of various set menus, all containing around 5-7 tapas style dishes. I chose the vegetarian early bird, and... More

Never had Indonesian Fusion before, thought we'd try it! So glad we did! Definitely book ahead, we went in at 7.30 and we told there'd be a table available at 9 - it was well worth the wait. Fantastic service despite it being a really busy night. The food was hot, fresh and interesting. Would definitely return if we visit... More

After discovering that there was an Indonesian restaurant in Dublin, I just had to visit it. The food here was excellent! Very good value for money and very filling. Our waitress (who was lovely) recommended 3 tapas dishes each, however we played it safe and got 2 each and both got a side dish and that was more than enough... More

This place is quite hard to find unless you know it exists - but judged by the fact it was full when we arrived, may people do. it is located on small street just off temple bar. It have different style to most of the bland eateries in the temple bar area so it was a welcome change. Food is... More

The service here was excellent, being Dutch I was really looking forward to my Rijst Tafel experience. We went for a couple of meat dishes and the fish menu and the amount of food was incredible, lots of little portions which for two people was a lot, would have been perfect for three. The food just didn't have the punch... More

On wondering around Temple Bar, I was tempted into this wonderful little restaurant. The hostess was very welcoming with lots of advise about their extensive menu. All the dishes are delivered together and made a wonderful display which really did taste as good as they looked. I have only eaten Indonesian food back in the 80's and was impressed by... More
