Daycent

Normally don't stray into temple bar, but as pubs go inviting, music here is good, the Guinness was good even for early in the day and it avoids the English dregs for some bizarre reason and the barman Niall was a gentleman.

We were approached by a young lady mid afternoon with menus hoping to entice us in for dinner, seeing we had 2 kids with us she suggested we sit upstairs, still a good spot to hear the music. We came back a bit after 5 to give it a try. Same young lady directed us upstairs, the stairs with a... More

Drink prices are a rip off and the barmen can't even pour a proper pint. You would be better off trying somewhere else. It is lively though.

The Auld Dubliner (Auld pronounced 'Old'), is located in Dublin's 'Temple Bar Quarter' and as such is extremely busy Thursday nights through to Saturday nights (Sundays too on Bank holiday weekends). Normal opening is from 11.00 until 11.30 (but 02.00 on Fridays & Saturdays) Food is served until 21.00 and the portions are large enough. There are also pint &... More

Completely outside of what the irish spirit preaches. It was one of my favourite spots in Temple Bar until me and my friends were kicked out because we were drinking nothing right after we finished our drinks. "You have to be with a full glass in your hands to be inside" the porters said. They didn't even give us time... More

By Irish Bar Food standards, the SPCA would be picketing to shut them down - on the out chance that anybody takes leftovers home to the hounds. We apparently hadn't consumed enough Pints to overlook the awful heat-n-serve mess served as "Murphy's Beef Pie" and "Guinness Irish Beef Stew". Yikes! On the other hand, we would rate the music wafting... More

Had a great visit here on a cold May day. Enjoyed a pint of Guinness in the warm and friendly atmosphere. Really reasonable prices.

Great live music food and beer. Service was a little slow but perhaps because we were upstairs... located right in Temple Bar area of Dublin.

Now I know all the Guinness in Dublin is good, but of the many bars we visited in the week, the Guinness here tasted Great. Can't really say why that should be, was it the temperature, how it was pulled, how it was stored....I don't know, it just tasted the best, in our opinion. The atmosphere and decor in this... More
