I have been fortunate enough to visit Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud (RPG) on a number of occasions and have always enjoyed what I consider to be a culinary experience rather than simply a meal. My last visit earlier in the summer however left me feeling distinctly underwhelmed. There are elements of the visit that were sublime; lovely surroundings, impeccable service, wonderful... More

We had a wonderful lunch last Saturday in Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud in Dublin's Merrion Street, by the Merrion Hotel. Superb service, excellent food and treated like royalty from the moment we entered the premises. If it's a special occasion you are after then this is one of Dublin's finest, as indicated by it's two Michelin stars, and very hard to... More

What a treat indeed! My boyfriend surprised me with a birthday lunch in Guilbaud’s and from aperitif to dessert, it did not disappoint! To begin we enjoyed a glass of champagne in the terrace area whilst reading over the extensive wine list. The wine list is second to none. Our waiter was pleasant, polite and incredibly helpful when assisting us... More

Not often stuck for words but this was sublime from start to finish. This is my new benchmark. We had the 8 course tasting menu.

From the cocktail in the parlor, surrounded by beautiful art, to the chocolate truffle box at the end of the meal, Patrick Guilbaud didn't miss a beat. The service was spot on but slightly less formal than equivalent restaurants in Paris, the wine list and sommelier's recommendation both were thoughtful and perfect. The food was delicious, and the staff did... More

Service is friendly and professional. The waiters know what they are doing, they have humour, are effecicient and helpful. The food is exciting and deliciously prepared. The place to go for an outstanding dinner in Dublin.

Our first visit to Guilbaud's and it didn't disappoint. The dining room is lovely and staff were absolutely charming. Service was flawless throughout, and not at all overbearing. We ate from the set lunch menu (surprisingly good value given the quality you get) and enjoyed an hour and a half of culinary heaven. While dishes were all beautifully and immaculately... More

Having read a decidely mixed review of this restaurant in the Irish Times just a few days before we were due to go there, I confess to having been more than a little apprehensive about what was in store for us. I needn't have worried. From the moment we arrived to when we left several hours later, everything was everything... More

Granted this is one for special occasions for most people. Having said that, I would heartily recommend the experience. The food, the service, and the ambience are superb.
