Visited this restaurant with family and friends. This restaurant has 2 stars from Michellin so you are expecting a superior meal. Its definitely a world class restaurant with cuisine basically based on french school but with a modern twist,(this is not noveau cuisine). The food was very good, the fish cooked to perfection.Lobster ravioli excellent. The wine list is extensive and comprehensive.Service... More

We had dinner here recently, when had a 3 course meal for €105. The food was very very good, the halibut particularly was amazing. the service was too efficient so much so we felt rushed, which was shame as this dinner was a real treat for us. I didn't like that you're not given a drinks list when you arrived... More

We celebrated out 25th anniversary in July and chose Gilbaud as we had eaten here more than 10 years ago and absolutely loved it then too. We both had the taster menu but not the recommended wines. The food came slow and steady course after course each building to the next with complex and delightful tastes and textures. At the... More

If you want to feel like royalty and eat like a king and queen , this is the place to go. Great service. Comprehensive wine list. Exotic menu. Desert went on forever which is not a complaint. The cheese plate and wine pairing was the best ever. Pricey to be sure, but get past that and it'll be a night... More

We took our son there for a birthday treat .From the welcome we received on arrival to the beautiful freshly baked breads and a lunch that truly is art on a plate with sublime tastes to match. For sure portions are small but there is plenty to fulfill the appetite once you have completed your meal with the lovely petit fours... Have been coming to PG off and on since just after it opened in 1981 in another location . It would almost be a crime to eat here too regularly as the experience needs to be savoured and appreciated ..not become commonplace . I am very wary of "haute cuisine " which might be too precious and pretentious. PG does... More

Was meaning to write this review for a while. Visited with my mum as a treat It is a beautiful setting inside- bright, open The waiters running around pulling your chair, taking your coat, cleaning the table, topping up your glass, unfolding you napkin is actually distracting to me personally. Yes they were attentive but its like a train station... More

I went to Patrick Guibaud with my partner to celebrate our anniversary. Naturally we were looking for a restaurant with great ambience and delicious food, we were not disappointed. The waiting staff were attentive without being too intrusive (exactly what you want on a romantic night out). There were several eating options but we opted for the 4 course "surprise... More

Came here for lunch on a Saturday. Plenty of attentive staff but unlike some other Michelin starred restaurants it was not too snooty. The man himself Patrick Guilbaud went around to each table and spoke to the guests. Noticed former Man United footballer Kevin Moran was with his family at another table. One small point - service was a little... More

OK the portions are small at lunch but you leave the restaurant with the feeling that you have witnessed a great performance and you go on to the rest of your day. Bravo the Guilbaud team at the Merrion hotel, Dublin. Great soup and wonderful sea bass.
