Splendid meal

My brother and I came to Dublin recently with sole purpose of trying RPG. We've been to a number of one star restaurants before but were keen to see the difference. We toyed with the idea of the 8 course tasting menu but stuck with the 4 course starter, fish, meat and dessert. We were seated... read more

Guilbaud's is the only 2 start Michelin restaurant in Ireland and has consistently obtained fabulous reviews and recently won best restaurant in Ireland. For this reason I was really looking forward to eating there but came away underwhelmed by the experience. I am a foodie and know my food and wine and was overall disappointed. The food was lovely as... More

In a lovely room beside the Merrion Hotel sits the Michelin 2-star Patrick Guildbaud restaurant. I arrived before my 2 companions and was shown to the table because the lounge was full. There I sat, completely ignored, not offered any bread or wine or water, until my companions arrived. Strike one. The waiter's French accent was so thick, we could... More

Can only echo the other reviews this was a truly great dining experience, everything is perfectly executed. The staff there are so well trained and make one feel comfortable. There is an extensive wine bible calling it a list doesn't do it justice and the food well what can I say it was all so good.

My wife and I had an excellent experience here. We thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu with wine pairings. Service was great and food first class.

This is a great restaurant and stands up well against those I other major cities around the world. It also reflects some Irish influence in the friendly service. The location is convenient to the city and hotels. The building is a sophisticated modernization that works got the over 30 year old establishment. The the formal entry leads to a lounge... More

Upon arrival we were offered Champagne which we accepted. When the waitor came to take our order, he couldn't not have been less interested in us! There were a party of regulars who he fawned over instead. When we were taken to our seats, everyone stared, It's really only a place to spot people. Our amuse bouche was disappointing. During... More than just food, dining at Patrick Guilbaud was an experience. Just watching the waiters was entertainment in itself, as they were so attentive, busy and each had a role. My husband had a tasting menu that was a surprise 4 courses. He loved the surprise, and all the food was excellent, as you'd expect for a Michelin restaurant. The... More
