Excellent burgers and Atmosphere

I love the atmosphere here. The lighting is perfect for the pub feeling, the walls are nicely decorated, and the cushioned seating is very cushion-y. Also, the food is excellent. My family, friends, and I have always had great food. The burgers are perfect, with the meat cooked right and the... read more

We called in for a quick lunch while a heavy shower of rain passed. The service was fast and efficient. The food however was mediocre. My hot sandwich was served on cheap sliced bread. The hot gammon in the sandwich was quite fatty.

If you want to avoid the high prices from Temple bar and go to a typical Irish pub, you have to go to the Duke. The food is just excellent, the staff very friendly, the ambience is great. They have plenty choices of food, you definitely have to try the Irish Stew... absoulutely delicious.

Our first stop: excellent fish & chips and great stew... and of course a great pint of Guinness! This was our first stop for lunch after we landed, and it was lovely sitting outside (in the sun!)

Went for drinks and a chat with some friends who now live in Dublin. Cozy atmosphere, wasn't too loud on a weekday around 9:30 or so.

Wonderful service! Had one night on my own in Dublin before heading back to the States and wanted Irish Stew. Walked into several pubs and couldn't get served and found Dukes. Immediately the bartender came over, took care of me. Didn't realize dinner was no longer being served but the bartender made sure I got my Irish Stew that was... More

This was recommended to us by a few taxi drivers (who all seem to avoid Temple Bar area for its high prices) said this was the best Guinness in Dublin. This definitely did not disappoint! Very reasonable prices vs some of the bars just minutes away. More local and friendly, avoiding the stags and hen partys you experience minutes away.... More

Liked it so much the first time, we came back for seconds. Bartenders were chatty and knowledgeable of the city. Gave us great tips on things to see and do. Cider was ice cold. Bread pudding was fantastic!

We came in here on a busy Friday night in November and the place was packed and buzzing. We were lucky to find a table for our party of five and enjoyed the chance to relax amongst the lively atmosphere. It felt like the crowd was predominantly locals enjoying an end of the week drink, rather than a tourist pub,... More

This popular Dublin establishment is near to shopping and the sights. We enjoyed the Guinness, Irish stew, and the atmosphere. Overall it was a fun place. But, be wary of the salads. They have a Greek salad on the menu, but it looked more like a pile of mixed vegetables.
