Dropped in for a bite and a pint. A large pub with a very friendly staff. They're all attentive and constantly looking to help. First time I visited had the Thai chicken, yes I know not exactly Irish! Was tasty, not spicy. The next time I had something more traditional, the Irish stew. Food was flavorful with pepper added. Good Beer, OK service. Interesting architecture and atmosphere. We didn't stay for food. Just a couple of Guinness. Most enjoyable.

We ate in The Duke today and were really impressed with Ciaran the barman. He was so friendly and helpful. We were in a hurry and he assured us that our food would be served quickly which it was. Portions were very generous. When we asked about bus routes he checked the details on his mobile phone and then went... More

A very popular place, even for locals. Met some great gentleman from the parliament that go there after work, because it's their favorite pub. Literary pub crawl begins from here. Great service!

Very good pub lunch of lamb stew and a hamburger steak with excellent pepper gravy and delicious salad. Wait staff was friendly and engaging both on service/menu but chat about Dublin as well. They also have Crabbie's, a delicious Scottish ginger beer. Clean bathrooms and a large upstairs with lots of TVs for sports. Just a block off Grafton on... More

I had dinner here while waiting for the literary pub crawl to begin - and I was very surprised at how delicious my Irish stew was. It was either the stew or soup, as I was there after lunch. Friendly locals who made room at their table made me feel very welcome and the 5 bells beer went down a... More
