Hubby and I had a meal at Damascus Gate yesterday evening in advance of attending a concert at the National Concert Hall. We were thrilled to be able to eat outdoors on such a very warm evening. We had a shared mezze starter, main course, side dish and dessert each. The mezze plate was very good, in particular the baba... More

I was staying in the hotel opposite and was so pleasantly surprised that there was a Lebanese and Syrian restaurant near by. I was looking at the menu and the lovely member of staff talked me into going in (I usually look around a few places before choosing when I am new to an area). So glad I went in.... More

Dublin's Camden Street is not the most fashionable but it boasts some very interesting restaurants that are worth the trip to get to them. Damascus Gate is a very good example - providing a reasonably long menu of genuinely Lebanese and Syrian food. As you'd expect the emphasis is on lamb, chicken and some beef or fish. Starters are substantial... More

The only reason we ate here was because we got a voucher from a deals website. The place was pretty well empty - just one other diner. True, it was 8pm on a wet Tuesday night, but the food was of such high quality that I can't understand why it isn't packed out. We had a mezza starter to share,... More

I've enjoyed several meals since January 2014. The food is always delicious and beautifully presented. All the staff are very welcoming and pleasant. I love the atmosphere and interesting decor. Great music too. Altogether a wonderful place to chill and to experience wonderful middle eastern hospitality.

The food here is totally delicious and not at expensive. The staff from the Middle East are attentive and personable. You can bring your own wine but we chose the excellent Bekka Valley wine from the menu. An excellent evening.

This place is a great restaurant to enjoy really tasty food, some Syrian tea, and shisha. The waitresses are extremely attentive and very helpful. I had chicken sambosas for starters. They were excellent, the pastry was perfectly crispy and the inside a delicious filling. For main course I had chicken in a lovely youghurt sauce. My friend took the mixed... More
