I'm a bit surprised by some of the reviews as the food here is excellent and the prawns, squid and fried beef were all of good quality and the various batters well prepared. The staff were efficient and friendly. What stops it getting an 'Excellent' is that the decor is a bit jaded and the place could do with a... More

This Chinese is very good but what you get you could easily go down the road into Clontarf and have a far nicer meal for less. The service is excellent but the decor is very dark, even at the window where we sat. The food is nice but the prices are stunning. My partner and I had a starter, main... More

Our food arrived at our table roughly 30 seconds after we ordered it, clearly just microwaved and handed out. All sauces were very clearly straight from a bottle and poured over. The staff pounced the second our cutlery hit the plates to remove them, I've never felt so rushed. Stay away, it's a total waste of money and most take... More

I first visited Wongs Chinese restaurant in Clontarf when working in Dublin quite a number of years ago and always look forward to visiting the restaurant again when back there visiting for the weekend. The food and service is always excellent and a delight to visit pre- or post-concert at the O2. I've read a couple of comments which are... More

We needed an early meal and for convenience we chose Wongs and booked a large table for our family. Had I visited the Ladies room before eating I would not have stayed as the loos were very poor - I believe the same can be said for the Gents too. My husband and I ordered a Thai style chicken curry... More

The decor is clichéd Chinese restaurant, dark and uninviting. Even though we booked ahead for our large group we were crammed uncomfortably tightly on the table, despite the restaurant being almost empty, so tightly that the servers had to shoulder us out of the way each time they needed to place or remove something on the table. Speaking of the... More

We visited Wongs in Clontarf over the May bank holiday weekend. We were regulars here for some time until the standards started to slip a couple of years ago. As it was a long weekend we decided to try something different and revisited our old haunt. I guess if you don't try , you don't know. We tried and it... More

I live close to Wongs and have dined there for the past 15 years or so now. I have to be honest and say I feel it is very over-rated for what you get. The staff are particularly rude and officious. They jam you into awkward corners even if in a large group. I hate dining and listening to other... More

Revisited Wongs last weekend for the first time in over 6 months. We gave it a miss for so long as the standards have really dropped in the last few years. But we said we would give it another go. Bad Idea - Sorry we went back - The food has not improved. We started with soup - ( like... More
