Dublin in January

I read about "Pieman" on Trip Advisor, so I was curious to pay a visit. Everyone knows Wigan people are called "pie eaters" - but being from Leigh by birth, I also know a thing or three about pies. The cafe opens at 12 noon, and on Monday Jan 25 my partner and I were the first in. Cosy, simple... read more

A friend and I have been in Dublin for 3 days now and every evening we struggle for find somewhere good to eat. After another evening of wondering the streets and passing various restaurants and pubs offering mediocre food for high prices, we found The Pieman Cafe. Good prices and a restaurant that only sells pies... What more could you... More

After looking all around Dublin central we eventually found The Pieman Cafe via TripAdvisor. As Kiwis, we were missing a good hearty meat pie encased in yummy flaky pastry. Great news!!! We visited The Pieman Cafe and got exactly what we were after! The lovely lady that served us had even lived previously in Wanaka (NZL) and so together we... More

Really good food. After much deliberation I chose the veggie pie and my boyfriend had the chicken and stuffing. The meal deal comes with a side (mash, mushy peas), gravy and a soft drink for €8.50. Or you can pay €2 more and upgrade to a beer. The lady serving was very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth stopping by.

Beef Guinness pie.'Nuff said. :) (Im forced to writes more as tripadvisor requires 100 words minimum.) So here goes, Lady at the counter was also very friendly. Place is clean and the music from the buskers floating in makes it a pleasant stop for a quick bite after a shopping spree.

Visited The Pieman in heart of Temple Bar and had a very lovely chicken, mushroom in whiskey gravy pie served with dollops of mash and rich gravy. Very affordable in what can be an expensive area to eat. Good hearty food.

Went here for lunch and had the vege option with mash & mushy peas. Sadly they'd run out of vege gravy. Had a can of coke too. Absolutely stuffed fro less than ten Euro. Loved it. On reflection should probably have had a craft beer. Will certainly visit again next time I'm in Dub

The food here was so delicious and the hospitality was great. The owner was super friendly and cafe had a warm atmosphere. We were stoked that we got to have a proper irish dish while we were here in dublin. If you are around the temple bar area defintely stop by.

Had a great experience here, brought my tourist friends for an "on budget" lunch. The staff is friendly, the food is great, the place is cosy and welcoming. Kudos to the owners, you have a great place there.

Stumbled across this little gem in Temple Bar and decided to go in for a pie. We were not disappointed as the pies were stunning and served straight from the oven. Staff were very friendly and the meal didn't cost us the earth either - an added bonus!
