I visited here with two other people for dinner in January. It was my first time going to Bear and I won't be going back. The restaurant is famous for its steaks so we each ordered one. The steaks were cooked as ordered but were cold when they came out to us. For a place that specializes in cooking steaks... More

The main event is the house speciality - million dollar fries!! Staff are very friendly, great at the up selling too! Steak was ok, expected better. Overall experience was very good, fab setting for a gang night out for chats as there isn't too much background interference. Nice tables/benches allows for informal dining vibe. Would I go back..probably but not... More

This is a great place with great cocktails and good food. The horseradish cole slaw is a real treat. Why not bring the Granny? Because it's all high stools and fairly high music (really good music BTW). Great ambiance for the younger crowd. I would recommend reserving. My young son loved the huge lemonade served in a huge jamjar.

Recently dined here my family. I have to say we had a lovely experience. All the waiting staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. We all ordered steak and fries. The nicest fries I have had in a while. I loved the upcycling theme throughout the restaurant, from my lemonade drink coming in a jam jar to... More

This food here is delicious! If you are a big steak fan this is totally suited to you. Really good food and their fries are some of the best I've had, especially the "million dollar fries".. bit expensive but very much worth it! Unfortunately we couldn't book a table for 2, so had to wait about to get seated but... More

Went for brunch yesterday with 4 friends, after reading the review in the Irish Times. Plenty of choice for brunch but I think I ordered the wrong food, my fault not the restaurant's. What really got up my nose was the pot of tea for two - I poured out a cup (a small cup at that) for my friend... More

dropped in for a meal on a Christmas Day out, and no problem getting seated at 4pm. we literally just wanted a good steak and fries so we ordered a strip loin steak each with fries and a portion of coleslaw. The steaks did not disappoint and came with Opinel steak knives which were good, the fries came pre-salted which... More

I visited this restaurant on the 14th of December for an early lunch with my boyfriend and his family. Two of the party are coeliac and we asked before being seating if they would be able to cater to this, as if not it was no problem we were happy to go elsewhere. We were advised that they could and... More

Went to Bear on the 1st Sat of December with 4 friends - the standard of food is excellent, very reasonable prices and a very interesting menu with the various cuts of beef that are available. The staff are professional, knowledgable and friendly, however everything takes to long. From being seated to being brought the menu, to being brought drinks,... More
