i go to bear quite often for lunch. They have recently changed the menu, but I usually go for the minute steak. It is just delicious. It comes with fries and garlic butter, simply yum! The service is always quick and efficient. I also like the overall atmosphere of the place. It is definitely a no frill, simple decor in... More

We had a nice lunch at Bear when we visited in March 2014 from New York City. I particularly love the rosary cut steak and fries. Enjoyed the horseradish slaw and the baked potato with steak. The side dishes were massive so we unfortunately ended up over ordering. Wait staff was friendly but wish they had warned us about the... More

Haven't ever had a bad meal here. There's a decent choice of steaks and the chips are delicious, the millionaire fries are hard to pass up too but are very filling. Staff are always nice and although it looks a bit too cool for school, it's quite relaxed and unpretentious inside. My one gripe would be that they are really... More

Had lunch with my son and he had the minute steak & chips, is was cooked as ordered and was really good with plenty of home made chips for €9.95 great value. I had the soup & sambo combo for €10. Soup was ok but my wrap with chicken was very greasy. Poor coffee and my son asked for coke... More

We had expected a lot more from Bear, but were disappointed. The great layout, nice friendly staff, but the steak (its selling point) was a huge let down! Avoid the crab croquettes if you are having a starter - they tasted bland and doughy. We all ordered the 9 oz steak medium rare, but they all came out medium to... More

Was there with my colleagues from work in December. First time visitor and a strong impression was left! The meat was sublime, cooked sympathetically and the quality was consistent over the night. The million dollar fries were the highlight of the evening and the staff were attentive but not obtrusive. Wine was good also. Great night, great atmosphere and most... More

I was advised this restaurant by one of my colleagues. I went there with one of my friends to order some steaks. Asked for medium rare got a well done steak. The taste was not great also not used to a steak where it is hard to cut trough it. The service was alright the wine was good. But would... More

Well jinkies, when I was told about this place as "a great place for steak" - I was expecting some typical gastro-pub type experience, however as soon as I entered I realised I was in for something refreshingly different. The atmosphere is buzzy and friendly, the decor is refined-rugged (if that's even a thing?) and the steaks we had were... More

Very stylish interior and super friendly staff. The menu is quite limited. I had a chicken salad and my friend had a rotary and chips. The lemonade is sharp and refreshing. It was good value. I don't think I'd be rushing back though.

My wife and I stopped in after walking around on Grafton Street. We had seen this restaurant on Anthony Bourdain's Layover and thought it looked tasty, it was. I had the rosary cut and don't remember what she had, but it doesn't matter, it was good. Only thing I didn't care for was the beer selection, but I handled that... More
