Very good meal and service

Visited with Bwrdd Crwn Caergybi / Holyhead Round Table during our bi-annual rugby trip for the 6 Nations Ireland v. Wales match. Booked a recommendation of where to eat in Dublin on a six nations weekend. The reception was not the warmest in the world, welcoming but distant, but that might be because we arrived as they opened so they may not have been up to speed with there warm welcome yet. The food was well cooked bistro style, tasted fabulous and... More

Meal for 6 on a Saturday evening. Bear was busy but good service throughout our meal. Restaurant is quite dark and tables a little close together but overall a great atmosphere. Well cooked steaks and millionaire fries are wel worth a try. House wine good quality and reasonably priced. We will defiantly return.

Maybe the Bear might benefit from a visit by its founder. The concept is nice but it's delivery might have fallen by the wayside. I agree with a few reviews that some tables to the side need lighting. I, one of my visits had to use my iPhone to illuminate the menu enough to read it. I did find the... More

The quality of food here is amazing. Fresh cuts of meat, perfectly done. The sides were also really really good and very original. I would highly recommend this place for business or for meeting friends.

My BF and I love going here, especially with a few friends as it really lends itself to ordering for the table and sharing due to the nature of the cuts of meat and the sizes of the side orders. Its very easy to over order here, but our old reliable order for the 2 of us would be the... More

I went to Bear in December with my Dad and sister. We all ordered steaks and various sides. My Dad ordered a beer, the waiter brought him the wrong beer and my Dad asked him if he could please have the beer he had ordered. The waiter did not seem to hear this and never returned with the beer. When... More

Always busy, I'd yet to try it out until we were walking past one Friday night and decided to go for it. Lesser-used cuts of steak and sides ordered separately is the modus operandi here. We had a rump steak and a striploin, and sides of "million dollar fries", horseradish coleslaw and buttered leeks. Striploin was tasty, the rump was... More

Bear's USP is unusual cuts of meat, and they really know their way around an animal's hind quarters! We met friends here on a Saturday evening, and the place was packed. A bit too warm for our liking, but the food was outstanding. We skipped starters and headed straight to the main event. My lamb leg sirloin was gorgeously flavourful,... More

Ordered a shared steak and millionaire fries..fantastic! No complaints on the food/drink, service was attentive and very friendly. Only very small issue was we had to ask the barman to seat us because no one else was around. Will be back!
