Description: YAMAMORI IZAKAYA, located at 12-13 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2...
YAMAMORI IZAKAYA, located at 12-13 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, in what was originally Ireland's very first cafe. This old Bewleys building boasts original oriental style decor with a twist. Enjoy the 1940's Chinese and Japanese beer ads and movie posters with a great Asian beer or rice wine, and try our dublin famous homemade Izakaya burger. After your meal we have a lounge downstairs where you can catch a nice Izakaya Lycee cocktail, and enjoy some modern sounds from Dublin's up and coming DJ's. Downstairs is a Japanese style drinking house, serving small Japanese style pub food dishes with great Japanese whiskeys, beers and sake. Come for food or drinks, chill out and listen to some urban lounge deep and soul tunes. The Izakaya has a retro easy going atmosphere and is open 7 days a week from 17:30 and is available for private bookings.

Odd menu but excellent food

The menu of this restaurant, from a Japanese perspective, is a bit of a hodgepodge. For instance, tempura is available as an appetizer but not a main dish. Nonetheless, one can make a meal of shrimp tempura and veggie tempura. Very light batter--excellent and perhaps the best I've had outside of... read more

If you like your Asian food, this place is a must. Tapas-style menu gives a great deal of choice and it was all fantastic. Helped by a brilliant waitress who knew the menu inside-out and gave good recommendations. Service was excellent and it wasn't too pricey at all. Definitely would eat here again on the next visit. Really good vibe... More

I was really looking forward to this place after hearing so many good reviews. I was sorely disappointed. Our order was mostly inedible pieces of homogeneous fried stodge, all of which had a horrible aftertaste as if they had been fried in burnt oil. We didn't eat most of the food. I won't be back

Amazing place with amazing food. First time I went to this restaurant and I'll definitely will return. The staff is impeccable, the decoration is great and the tables disposition is also good. Despite being full you felt comfortable. The restaurant as two set price menus apart from ordering from the list. We went for the 5 tapas style (35€) and... More

I have never been disappointed with food here, and I go too much. So much to offer from the Japas menu with deals of 3 for 22euro, or 5 for 35. Get the Izakaya burgers with teriyaki sauce. They're the best! Plus any sushi / tempura. The staff are brilliant, chef's are amazing, and it's fun! Include it in part... More

We live in a town in Switzerland where you cannot get authentic Japanese food. We could get 5 tapas-style dishes for just €35. 2 adults were filled up from the 5 small dishes. Good variety and lots of veggies! I also liked that the music wasn't SO loud so we could actually have a conversation. Would highly recommend! Delicious!

After dinner at Klaw, the waiter suggested this place and it turned out to be close to where we were staying. What a gem,and I couldn't believe it was a sushi bar as I love sushi! They have some unusual cocktails priced at about 10.00 each! We sat at the bar and got to watch all the food being made! I... More

I went here with a large group for food and a few drinks. The Japas (Japanese Tapas) was superb, the cocktails were very nice (but expensive) and the staff were friendly. I've been back a few times since and it's never disappointed.

I had previously visited the Yamamori Noodle restaurant on the same street so thought I should try here too. I loved the idea of Japas so I could try a number of dishes. Food is good value with 5 dishes for €35. Particularly enjoyed the dumplings and chefs selection sushi platter. Staff are very friendly! I will definitely be back!

Thank you for the lovely review, We are so happy to hear you enjoyed us as much as our sister restaurant Noodles. Sure since you are on a roll you would maybe like to make it a hat-trick and try our Thursday BBQ in Yamamori Sushi Ormond Quay just if your ever around town on a Thursday night. Thanks Again...
