Description: YAMAMORI IZAKAYA, located at 12-13 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2...
YAMAMORI IZAKAYA, located at 12-13 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, in what was originally Ireland's very first cafe. This old Bewleys building boasts original oriental style decor with a twist. Enjoy the 1940's Chinese and Japanese beer ads and movie posters with a great Asian beer or rice wine, and try our dublin famous homemade Izakaya burger. After your meal we have a lounge downstairs where you can catch a nice Izakaya Lycee cocktail, and enjoy some modern sounds from Dublin's up and coming DJ's. Downstairs is a Japanese style drinking house, serving small Japanese style pub food dishes with great Japanese whiskeys, beers and sake. Come for food or drinks, chill out and listen to some urban lounge deep and soul tunes. The Izakaya has a retro easy going atmosphere and is open 7 days a week from 17:30 and is available for private bookings.

really good food

We got take away from here, the food was excellent and well prepared. Place was bursting at the seams, obviously a neighbourhood favourite. Staff were delightful and really helpful. Good value for money.

Great place for a group of friends to eat. Very social and you get to try a huge range of dishes. Downstairs has a bar and long bench seats which are very relaxed and informal if your not looking for fine dining. Upstairs has more of a restaurant feel to it but either way the food is amazing. I discovered this place the week it opened and have been a regular since. I love that the kitchen here is open late. I have eaten here more often than I ever intended to for that very reason. There is quite a big and vast menu and plenty of japas (Japanese tapas) to pick from, including sushi, tempura and other... More

My husband and I visited Ireland for about 2 weeks in mid-late May and we are still talking about the meal we had at Yamamori Izakaya. We were actually planning on eating at Yamamori Noodles but the restaurant was getting ready to close so they directed us across the street to Izakaya and we are so glad they did. We... More

We were in the downstairs area with a loud work gang, but we're able to eat, drink and karaoke to our hearts content and not disturb anyone else. Perfect for that kind of group :)

Went with three friends. Food was good however service was poor. We had to ask a number of times for service and had several issues with the bill which were not handled well by server, supervisor or manager.

My friend and I went there for dinner. Sushi was good but not worth the price. It's definitely too expensive. The staff is really friendly though and the atmosphere is cool.

A regular visitor here, was here again last night. Food is always excellent. And the beer even better. Casual atmosphere and staff are always very good.
