Description: YAMAMORI IZAKAYA, located at 12-13 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2...
YAMAMORI IZAKAYA, located at 12-13 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, in what was originally Ireland's very first cafe. This old Bewleys building boasts original oriental style decor with a twist. Enjoy the 1940's Chinese and Japanese beer ads and movie posters with a great Asian beer or rice wine, and try our dublin famous homemade Izakaya burger. After your meal we have a lounge downstairs where you can catch a nice Izakaya Lycee cocktail, and enjoy some modern sounds from Dublin's up and coming DJ's. Downstairs is a Japanese style drinking house, serving small Japanese style pub food dishes with great Japanese whiskeys, beers and sake. Come for food or drinks, chill out and listen to some urban lounge deep and soul tunes. The Izakaya has a retro easy going atmosphere and is open 7 days a week from 17:30 and is available for private bookings.

Buzzy spot, fantastic authentic Japanese food

One of my favourite spots to go for dinner and a cocktail in Dublin when we have a babysitter. Great buzz about the place, and the japas way of dining allows you to savour a lot of the amazing food on offer here - personal favourites are Sichuan Gyoza, duck pancakes, tataki beef and any of the... read more

Probably this is one of the best Japanese restaurant outside of Japan. Very authentic food and whatever we had didn't fail a thing. Cool and easy-going flair. If I were a resident of the area, I would easily be a regular.

Was here a few times in the last year with different people, all of whom enjoyed the experience. It's really Japanese tapas/Japas, but there are some larger dishes for people who don't want to share! I really recommend the venison and the vegetarian curry. Really delicious. The sake cocktails and great wine options clinch the deal.

This place came recommended from a website and the idea of Japanese tapas was too good to resist. We opted for to five tapas for 35euros. The options available were varied and interesting. We could have happily chosen 10. The only downside was that the portions of some of the tapas were a little small and as such I went... More

Booked a table for two for a very rare date night. It was recommended by a colleague and didn't disappoint. Loved the decor, music and atmosphere. We had the Japas - five dishes for 35euro. Really good value and very tasty. Plenty for the two of us. Service was excellent with the exception of one female server with dark hair... More

I visited this restaurant today on a trip to Dublin and found the price matched the food which was great. My waiter at the start decided to seat herself beside me and take our order, which I found quite unprofessional. I loved the idea of the 5 dishes for a set price, €6 is steep for Edimame beans though. The... More

I'm quite fond of Asian food and this is definitively a 'must go' place. We went twice, fried noodles which were delicious, it seems to serve non stop (eat twice quite late and each time restaurant was full). They happily serve tap water as much as you wish (which is for my part quite appreciated)

We dined here recently to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food was quite delicious. We enjoyed a varied selection of tapas as well as two very large sushi rolls, a dragon and a rainbow. The dragon roll was probably one of the best sushi rolls that I have ever had. We had... More
