Description: YAMAMORI IZAKAYA, located at 12-13 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2...
YAMAMORI IZAKAYA, located at 12-13 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, in what was originally Ireland's very first cafe. This old Bewleys building boasts original oriental style decor with a twist. Enjoy the 1940's Chinese and Japanese beer ads and movie posters with a great Asian beer or rice wine, and try our dublin famous homemade Izakaya burger. After your meal we have a lounge downstairs where you can catch a nice Izakaya Lycee cocktail, and enjoy some modern sounds from Dublin's up and coming DJ's. Downstairs is a Japanese style drinking house, serving small Japanese style pub food dishes with great Japanese whiskeys, beers and sake. Come for food or drinks, chill out and listen to some urban lounge deep and soul tunes. The Izakaya has a retro easy going atmosphere and is open 7 days a week from 17:30 and is available for private bookings.

Will return!

Booked a table for two for a very rare date night. It was recommended by a colleague and didn't disappoint. Loved the decor, music and atmosphere. We had the Japas - five dishes for 35euro. I visited this restaurant today on a trip to Dublin and found the price matched the food which was great. My waiter at the start decided to seat herself beside me and take our order, which I found quite unprofessional. I loved the idea of the 5 dishes for a set price, €6 is steep for Edimame beans though. The... More

I'm quite fond of Asian food and this is definitively a 'must go' place. We went twice, fried noodles which were delicious, it seems to serve non stop (eat twice quite late and each time restaurant was full). They happily serve tap water as much as you wish (which is for my part quite appreciated)

We dined here recently to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food was quite delicious. We enjoyed a varied selection of tapas as well as two very large sushi rolls, a dragon and a rainbow. The dragon roll was probably one of the best sushi rolls that I have ever had. We had... More

We had dinner with group of friends and it was big disappointment. They offered service like in McDonald. Food wasn't really great, it was more fast-food style Japanese sushi. The price like for 5star restaurant. I wouldn't recommend that place to anyone.

I dinner here with friends and we had a good time but for the noisy group next to us. The place has two rooms, try better the first floor in case there are big groups on the other. The tapas concept is good, but when doing it as the real tapas are, because it is actually expensive tapas. The staff... More

I ate here with a group of girlfriends recently and we had a really great night. The place has a bar/club atmosphere that strengthens as the night goes on. The concept is Japanese tapas, or Jappas and we ordered a bunch of them between eight of us. Standouts for me were the pumpkin croquettes, prawn gyozas and grilled vegetables with... More

Don't eat here as often as I should as the gyoza in particular are beautiful but do frequent the place on a fairly regular basis for drinks. Always going to be good tunes playing and a warm welcome, great staff and talented bartenders, the tall, grumpy (in an endearing way) one makes one of the best whisky sours I've ever... More

Have been going here years and previously wrote a very good review for it but went at Christmas and wasn't as nice as it previously was. I ordered the Katsu Curry it wasn't as nice and it doesn't come with those lovely Japanese peppers it used. But the big disappointment was the sushi, far too much rice and not enough... More

Hi Brian M, I am very sorry for your bad experience in the restaurant you went to. Unfortunately Izakaya do not have or ever has had a Katsu Curry on our menu. I would imagine the review is for another establishment. I'm sorry again but maybe pop into us and try some of our delicious Japanese Sushi it won't disappoint.... More
