Description: YAMAMORI IZAKAYA, located at 12-13 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, in...
YAMAMORI IZAKAYA, located at 12-13 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, in what was originally Ireland's very first cafe. This old Bewleys building boasts original oriental style decor with a twist. Enjoy the 1940's Chinese and Japanese beer ads and movie posters with a great Asian beer or rice wine, and try our dublin famous homemade Izakaya burger. After your meal we have a lounge downstairs where you can catch a nice Izakaya Lycee cocktail, and enjoy some modern sounds from Dublin's up and coming DJ's.

Downstairs is a Japanese style drinking house, serving small Japanese style pub food dishes with great Japanese whiskeys, beers and sake.

Come for food or drinks, chill out and listen to some urban lounge deep and soul tunes.

The Izakaya has a retro easy going atmosphere and is open 7 days a week from 17:30 and is available for private bookings.

Great food and fun

The very helpful waiter guided us through a really nice selection of japas - tapas portion size Japanese dishes . The tempura choices were delicious as were the various sushi variations - not a bum note between a choice of 15 ( there were 7 of us dining).Deserts to follow were also very good... read more

This place is to true Japanese food what the high street burger chains are to real American food: plastic rubbish.. I went there on a Friday night, in a party of three. The place was busy, which is hard to understand. Sashimii must be made with VERY fresh fish, and should be chilled: ours was neither. The Tempura vegetables were... More

I went there with a friend around 8 on a tuesday. There was very few people downstairs, we sat down to a table which could be seen from the bar. But for some reason, the waiter kept on passing by us without stopping at all. At some point (about 15 minutes later !!) I went to the bar and asked... More

I ve been here with my boyfriend to have a relaxing evening. I always wanted to try this restaurant which I heard goods recommendations. I honestly didn't enjoy the food. After the meal, the food did repeat on us a lot. Moreover, It's really expensive for 2 persons and I honestly think you can have much better Asian food for... More

Food was brilliant, but service just ok, the staff should pay more attention to customers needs. I believe you can get the best sushi in Dublin

We had a terrific meal and a great time here. We ordered Japas (Japanese Tapas) and some people ordered the meal for two which went down really well, crammed with sushi and other interesting and tasty elements. It was difficult to choose the Japas as I wanted to eat so many of them. Luckily between us all we had a... More

Went here the day before Christmas Eve. Wait was reasonable enough for a table -we hadn't prebooked and waited about 15 min for a table; they were very busy!! Ordered some sushi to share & came very quickly which was great because we were hungry. Sushi wasn't great; didn't seem very fresh so I wasn't impressed. We both ordered a... More

The banoffee pie in here is amazing. If you go here, you have to order it. It's the best banoffee pie I've ever had.

Firstly I feel the need to say I don't really like sushi. This means my choice on the menu usually arrives at the same dish, the roasted vegetable curry, which is always very good. All that said, I always enjoy a visit to Yamamori. There is always a great buzz there, and because diners often share their dishes with their... More

I have organised a Christmas get together for a group of 25-30 for the last few years now and have had the pleasure of booking and dining in a number of wonderful restaurants around Dublin, sadly this was not one of them. We were brought to our own area which showed promise only to find that there were a number... More
