Lovely lunch

Visited Finnegans for a birthday lunch this week. We had corned beef (13.50), fish pie (€14.50), smoked salmon & crab salad (€15) and seabass (can't remember). All the dishes were well prepared and very tasty particularly the fish pie. I thought that for €15 the salad could have had a bit more to... read more

Along with 3 of my friends, we had Sunday lunch here recently. I had only had lunch there during the week previously when it is very crowded but this Sunday, there were very few people. Two of us had the roast beef and two had the fish ...... it was all absolutely delicious and there was not a crumb left... More

I have been in this pub for lunch many times and recently revisited wondering if anything had changed. It hasn't. Great food and great value. Not fancy but true Irish pub with Irish atmosphere. This was the favorite pub of Irish writer Maeve BInchy, who lived in Dalkey until her death. I ran into her several times over the years... More

I visited finnegans for a Sunday lunch with my mother and grandfather. My grandad is not the easiest of customers but the girls working their were really patient and accommodating with him and the seafood dishes I ordered were lovely. Avocado and prawn salad and crab gratin. Highly recommend a visit here if you are in the Dalkey area.

Myself and my husband had lunch here today as we do most Fridays. There was something about today's lunch that really hit the spot for me. It was the steak and kidney pie. It was simply delicious, served with mange tout and carrot puree and beautifully smooth, well seasoned mashed potato. I actually sent my compliments to the chef and... More

Finneagans of Dalkey Ireland is only open for lunch--or at least when we were there that was the case. It was recommended to us by the hotel staff. We had lunch there before taking the train to Dublin. My husband had a wonderful chicken dish that was on the lunch menu. My favorite was my dessert--Strawberries and Cream--a baked meringue... Went to this bar/restaurant near Dalkey Train Station for lunch and I have to say it was one of the best meals out I've had for a long time. I had the fish pie which to say was a generous portion is an understatement. My wife had the Lobster salad and she was delighted with both the size and taste... More
