Nice spot for a drink

Stopped in for a quick drink after a day spent in Dalkey. Also wanted to confirm the location of Maeve Binchy's cottage and were directed to Finnegan's to confirm. The staff were very helpful and showed us Maeve's booth where she always sat. It now has a photo of her posted on the wall above... read more

I don't see how anyone could not love this place. The barman, Damien was everything you want in a bartender. Helpful and quick to pour a pint. Beautiful bar with a great selection of beer, spirits, and wine.

I was with a group of visitors from the US when it was suggested that the group might like to visit Finnegans for lunch. It was an excellent suggestion. Ten of us arrived for lunch and I have to say I was impressed with the surroundings, the service and the food. It was coming to the end of lunch time,... More

Enjoyed the generous meal at a fair price. Pub classics well done. Not hugely adventurous. But that is not what we wanted. Had a mate from abroad and thought the more traditional the better and it met all our needs!

Probably the most iconic pub in Dalkey. Not for nothing is Dalkey known as "paddywood". You could well be at the bar having a Guiness with some very famous rock stars or authors in this brilliant pub.

Lunched here on a Friday with English Rugby Heads. Great Guinness and quality food. We were lucky that we were there before 12.30 as the place got packed and rightly so. Staff very friendly and made sure the 6 of us had a good time. Would revisit anytime !

Visited Finnegans for a birthday lunch this week. We had corned beef (13.50), fish pie (€14.50), smoked salmon & crab salad (€15) and seabass (can't remember). All the dishes were well prepared and very tasty particularly the fish pie. I thought that for €15 the salad could have had a bit more to it in term of salad vegetables but... More
