The Oval Bar is an authentic Irish Pub situated idyllically in the heart of Dublin City on Middle Abbey Street. Housed within a beautiful Victorian building with most of its period features still intact, The Oval is the perfect place to escape from the hectic hustle and bustle of the city outside and provides a haven of welcome and warmth for local office workers on lunch, busy shoppers looking to recharge their batteries, visiting tourists looking for the 'Craic' and music, cinema and theatre goers looking for a bite to eat and a drink before or after their show. Once our patrons step inside our doors they experience the relaxed and convivial nature of our charming pub, our Staff are welcoming and friendly and will ensure that everyone's stay is a pleasant one. With over 3 floors of seating and a large function area with its own private bar facilities available to rent we can accommodate any size group. We also have an outdoor seating area for those lazy Dublin summer evenings. Our kitchen serves a full menu daily with Traditional Irish Stew being one of our specialities! The Oval has long been renowned as an exceptional place to watch 'the match', we show all the major sporting events on our wide screen LCD TVs and has also a great atmosphere for pre or post match celebrations for patrons going to and from Croke Park. The Oval - home of the best Pint of Guinness in Dublin!

With a group of 20 or so friends, we spent the afternoon here, watching rugby, eating and drinking. The staff were excellent, courteous and always at hand. Food and drinks were reasonable and of a high standard. Superb service. Thank you.

Decent bar with lots of choice and situated just off O'Connell Street. Well worth popping into to and enjoying the refreshment available.

A good pub for a quiet pint in an area seriously lacking in good boozers. Good location for a pre theatre (Abbey)or pre gig (Academy) pint.

We visited this bar after long, cold day of running around the Dublin City Center and I just loved this place. Great service, lovely food and atmosphere-really worth a visit

Went for dinner and drinks with my mam and sister. Really cosy traditional pub. Service was excellent, really friendly waiter. We had Steak and Guinness pie and Roast chicken. Can't fault this place at all. We will definitely be back!

Chose the Oval Bar for lunch today with a friend – our yearly Christmas meet-up. This is a lovely old bar, full of character both inside and out. There are quite a few stairs in here, so not suitable for wheelchair or disabled customers. We took a table on the upper level and a very nice young lady brought us... More

Sad this place used to be so cosy and friendly . Not anymore . Don't think I've ever been asked to pay before a pint was served , very very strange . Rude owner/manager . Used to always come in for Christmas drinks , won't be in the future. Shame. Plus it's freezing, central heating anyone ??

Excellent pub for a good pint and a break from shopping ! Great staff - attentive and very on the ball.... and great interior ! A lovely little spot just off O'Connell Street - one for a swift rehydrating sherbet mid shop perhaps ? Great little place.
