Description: The Oval Bar is an authentic Irish Pub situated idyllically in the heart of Dublin City on Middle Abbey Street. Housed within a beautiful Victorian building with most of its period features still intact, The Oval is the perfect place to escape from the hectic hustle and bustle of the city outside and provides a haven of welcome and warmth for local office workers on lunch, busy shoppers looking to recharge their batteries, visiting tourists looking for the 'Craic' and music, cinema and theatre goers looking for a bite to eat and a drink before or after their show. Once our patrons step inside our doors they experience the relaxed and convivial nature of our charming pub, our Staff are welcoming and friendly and will ensure that everyone's stay is a pleasant one. With over 3 floors of seating and a large function area with its own private bar facilities available to rent we can accommodate any size group. We also have an outdoor seating area for those lazy Dublin summer evenings. Our kitchen serves a full menu daily with Traditional Irish Stew being one of our specialities! The Oval has long been renowned as an exceptional place to watch 'the match', we show all the major sporting events on our wide screen LCD TVs and has also a great atmosphere for pre or post match celebrations for patrons going to and from Croke Park. The Oval - home of the best Pint of Guinness in Dublin!

Hubby and I first visited the Oval Bar on Tuesday 13th Jan 2015. It was our first day in Dublin and after an early flight we were just having a lazy wander around the city centre and getting our bearings. This bar is just off O'Connell Street so is handily placed for both shoppers and sightseers alike. Friendly service and... More

Did a fair few beers over the Christmas here, fAirly average but always busy so it's doing something right. Staff are so so nothing special but it's a cosy little boozer right in the centre of town

I know it's not the first concern on going to a pub, but my Irish countrymen seem totally indifferent to having wifi upstairs. O'Neills in Suffolk St was the same. It's a little quirk that irritates as the ground floors of these pubs are usually rammed - and for good reason. The food - had a seafood chowder - was... More

The Oval Bar has great, quick staff (very attentive, too, regardless of the time of the day/night), comfortable seating, clean premises and good food. As a vegan it's tough in an Irish pub to begin with, but staff was very eager to give proper information and make sure I got something to eat. The salad with walnuts and red-wine-pears was... More

I think it's fair to say that this is one of the best pubs in Dublin City Centre. Staff are always polite and efficient and the pints are always consistent. The pub itself is clean and it is cosy, perfect for a few pints and also a good place for watching the football/rugby/GAA etc. The food here is good too... More

Popped in here for a couple of pre dinner drinks and ended up staying instead. Food was beautiful, plentiful and very good value. The ambience was relaxed and friendly as were the staff. Will be back.
