Wonderful "take away" downstairs

We stopped into the "department" store because a friend at home in California told us that a friend of hers always shops here when she is in Dublin. We checked out the cafe, and while it looked wonderful, we decided to see what the "take away" in the basement served. We were very happy to get a... read more

We had been recommended this cafe by a friend, and decided to go there for breakfast - it also seemed to be one of the only places in the city that opened before 10am on a Saturday! From the moment you walk in the door it was a wonderful experience, the service was attentive, the food was divine (we all... More

Unlikely place to find a restaurant, but discovered this place a few years ago and every time I visit Dublin it is a must. Very well presented, very good flavours with plenty of interesting options. The desserts look amazing, but normally don't have room for them. Well worth a visit.

There are actually two places to eat inside Avoca. One small cafe/deli with a few tables is in the basement and the other larger cafe is on the top floor. There is an elevator if you need it, but walking up the stairs heading to the restaurant, while browsing at all of the beautiful items for sale throughout the store... More

We went to the one in Monkstown. They had me at 'Good Afternoon'. You enter into a full restaurant through this store of organic food and cheese. Very quaint , very robust ..all at once. I am not a 'Swifty' , but I just died and went to make my funeral arrangements. I am trying to find the right person... More

Not the cheapest place in town but the quality makes it all worthwhile. They have delicious salads, I've never been disappointed. We tried the roasted chicken as well and it was beautiful. The staff were all great and extremely fast considering the full house. A little hint, if you're up for dessert but not in a huge rush, head to... More

Perfect place to just stroll for an hour or so. Nice place with both beautifull cooking utensils and clothing, as actual food. The salads are amazing!

Really enjoyed my stop at Avoca. It is a charming store and has beautiful woolens and food gifts to take home. It is pricey.butno more expensive than other shops with authentic Irish goods. Some scarves and sweaters can be found for less at other tourist shops but Avoca is definitely the real thing, having been around since the 1700s and sells... More
