This was once a pub where we would drink frequently when we worked nearby, until it turned into a seafood restaurant with bar, so it probably isn’t appreciated enough for its food. Although it has been open for quite a while this is the first time we ate there and it was a very good experience. Although three of us... More

Our group of four family members ate here on a recent trip to Dublin. Myself and my brother arrived first and were seated in the loft dining area. My sister and her husband were a few minutes late, so i called the waitress over and asked what the specials were that evening. She answered that it was too much trouble... More

When I asked if there was no pepper sauce on the menue Paddy the floor manager asked if the chef could make me some - it was delicious it should be on the menu. Paddy got me some onions too! He couldn't do enough to help. It made dining a wonderful experience. Will definitely be back when in Dublin again.... More

My wife and I ate here on our recent trip to Dublin, and really enjoyed all the seafood here. Very fresh and well presented, there were lots of nice flavours. The mussels in particular were very good, and the staff were all happy to help. Feels a little more like a hotel lobby than a restaurant or bar, but nice... More

I went to Matt The Thresher with a work party, it was a large group of people (16 in total) and only one person had ever eating here before. So we were unaware of the restricted space available. On arrival we were told to wait as our table was not ready usually no big deal but again there was so... More

When asking the receptionist for a nice restaurant within a short walking distance (we stayed just off Merrion Square) she recommended Matt the Thresher. This was our last night in Dublin so we thought the meal should be a nice one. We reserved a table and when arriving shown to a rather small table being cramped in between two semi... More

It's great to go into a nice clean restaurant, great staff, great food and enjoy a great meal. THIS IS A WONDERFUL RESTAURANT. As soon as you go in, you are treated with a friendly member of staff that knows their job very well. When the food arrives, you are in for a treat, high quality every time (I have... More

Got a tip from a limo driver to try this place. Short walk from St. Stephen's Green. Go early if you want to get a table and not have to wait. I tried the Fish Pie, which is a similar idea to Shepherd's Pie but with fish instead of beef. What looked like a small casserole dish ended up being... More

Recently celebrated a birthday at this restaurant- nice buzzy place love the bar area. The seafood platter was very impressive. The crab claws were fresh and cooked nicely. Wait staff were busy and at times it was hard to get their attention however they were very friendly! I'd recommend this restaurant.
