I was here for brunch/lunch with a group of mothers and babies and they were friendly and accommodating. They are also welcoming to breastfeeding mothers. I asked about the review below and was informed that it actually related to a different establishment in Mount Jerome graveyard and didn't reflect the position of Mayfield at all, so don't be put off... The service was poor and extremely slow... Have had several negative experiences here and have finally learnt my lesson..don't be fooled by the shabby chic décor..doesn't compensate for average food and sloppy slow service.

Went there on the chance of a table on a Wednesday night. they didn't, and to say the hostess was rude about saying no would be an understatement. Rude staff is the worst quality any restaurant can have. Won't be sampling the food, needless to say.

Busy Sunday and they didn't seem to have enough chefs to cook the food...it also took 15 mins to get coffees and drinks. Food is over-rated and not special. We were a large group after a christening and everyone was relatively disappointed with the experience.

Mayfield is the kind of place that, if it were to close in the morning (perish the thought, but you just never know with restaurants!!), I feel that local and other clients would reminisce about it for years to come! It's not just the quality of the food but the ambiance of the place as well (Mayfield, with its mix... More

Once again Mayfield proved a big disappointment. Chose to meet friends as it is local to us all. Food is overpriced for what you get . We waited 1 hour to be served. Service seems to be a problem they seem incapable of fixing. Shabby chic decor a bit passé and too 'shabby' at this stage. Enough already. Not going... More

Thoroughly enjoyed this super place, and being just up the road from our friend's home, it was a great location. Food tasty and plenty of it. We had a selection of starters and one main....great way to share and try a few different plates (nacho's a must). Service fab, really friendly and helpful, didn't have to wait long for either... I've eaten here a few times for brunch and once for dinner as it's conveniently close to my house. The food is good, nothing special. Cute decor, nice little touches in that sense. The service though is apalling. It's actually gotten worse each time I've gone. Had lunch this week with 6 friends, half of the group ordered sandwiches the... More

Had brunch here with my better half last weekend. The place was busy and there was a nice buzz in the place. The service was good and the food was tasty. I had the breakfast pie, which was quite nice. Seems to be a popular place.
