A nice atmosphere with good live Irish music

We had a lovely evening at the Merchant's listening to live Irish music in a pleasant atmosphere. We didn't eat here but the food looked very good and the Guinness went down very well. It's on the south side of the Liffey just at the end of the Ha'penny Bridge.

On the edge of Temple Bar next to the Halfpenny Bridge over the Liffey, it's in a good spot to lure in tourists, and it does. The bar prices reflect this but it's a grand place to sit and have a few pints and listen to the music each night. Unthreatening and unpretentious, with friendly service. We didn't eat because... We happened upon the Merchant's Arch and decided to try it on a whim. It blew our expectations away. First, the waitress was so nice and a lot of fun. She suggested a beer and I loved it. We ordered dinner (fish and chips and Irish stew). Both dishes came piping hot and were delicious. The music was loud but... More

Looked a good place from the outside, for evening meal, and a bit of music. To be fair, the evening meal and service, were okay, food could have been hotter, nothing exceptional, but we did enjoy the evening. Because of this, we decided to visit for breakfast. Ours was a party of six. We were shown upstairs, where there was... More

We visited here at around 3pm which can sometimes be an awkward time to arrive for food. However we were welcomed immediately and given a menu. We had some chicken wings and a burger. Good pub grub. The staff are the hidden gems of this place though with a friendliness that doesn't feel like it's put on for the tourists... More

We followed the sign off the main leg of temple bar into this hidden gem and were pleased that we did! Incredible live music, lovely honest service and fantastic Irish vibe! Food was fine for a pub meal but certainly nothing to spend time reviewing. Basic. Balcony to eat in though is perfect to still enjoy the "pub" but eat... More

We arrived on Good Friday which although not advertised is an alcohol free day in Ireland so please beware. We only found out when we went into The Merchant's Arch and tried to order our drinks. We were seated upstairs which to be honest held too many tables for the space so tended to be a bit cramped. The staff... More

Hi there and thank you for your review on your recent visit with us. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed our food!
