This bar has friendly staff and wonderful views over the Liffey. The food is ample - and I can recommend the mini Irish breakfast as very good to start the day with! Evening food is good too - but the place does get very crowded. Good live music through the day

Working for a few days in Dublin and went to experience Temple Bar at night (again). Almost missed this little gem on this visit. Staff throughout were pleasant, polite and friendly. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced and the beer (stout) was superb. What really set this above other bars we visited was....everything! The music was superb (banjo... More

After having a good meal in the afternoon decided to go back at night Shame. I did ordered 2 10 oz steaks what came was not very good. In fairness when we told the waitress she did what she could only ended paying for one . Not the point. But good music and a nice drink. Shame about the food... More

I always stop off at the Merchants Arch when going via Dublin - great staff, great music, decent food, and minimal chance of drunken fights as the door staff want nice punters, not just cash. Get there early, as otherwise you'll be lucky to find a table.

As we walked over halfpenny bridge we were inticed by the music so stuck our heads in. There was an Irish musician called Mylo singing and playing guitar and he was great! Did a mix of old and new songs, putting his spin on all of them! Pub was busy.....we a lot of English lads I might add but there was... More

Read reviews and viewed menu online before going for our last night in Ireland. They had many of the items the family wanted and we figured the music was a bonus. Like others have said, music is loud, but if you sit upstairs it is not so bad. The duo was good, but the violin could have been turned down... More

We discovered the Merchants Arch Bar on our last night in Dublin. We were looking for some live Irish music in the Temple Bar area. We walked into a few pubs with music that didn't quite match what we were looking for before happening upon the Merchant's Arch. We listened to one musician before dinner down the street, and then... My first pub visit in Dublin, ever! Started my son's birthday evening celebrations here, tasty vegetable spring rolls and goujons of cod with chips...really good! Enjoyed the band (6pm 7th Aug) and the Guinness of course! Very attentive and friendly service. Will definitely be back!
