Dinner was good, not great. The mushroom soup was just average. Their was a delicious salad with blueberries, beets, broccoli and sweet potatoes. A tasty combination! The entrees were pretty good, just not as great as I expected after reading the reviews. Somewhat disappointed.

This little place just up the stairs and near the canal was great for us. Since we like to eat Irish food in Ireland, etc. this was a good start. The clientele was nearly all locals. I had the braised lamb Sheppard's pie, which was so good my wife started making it after we got home. My wife had the... More

Ate here on our first night in Ireland at the recommendation of the staff at Number 31. On a busy Friday night, they accommodated us without reservations and gave us a delightful introduction to Dublin nightlife. Delicious meal, fun atmosphere, charming painted paneling decor. What else is there? Oh yeah, O'Briens pub is downstairs. Add this one to your list!

Loved our dinner at The Sussex our last night in Dublin. Upstairs location was very fun and provided us with a great view. Excellent service and delicious Irish fare. The beef stew was a standout. Wonderful menu, a great value.

We were staying at the Doubletree Burlington about a block away, and walked here in less than 5 minutes. It was recommended by another couple who had eaten dinner there the previous night and wanted to go back to try different dishes. It was Saturday night and we had no reservations but we (4) were seated within a few minutes.... More

Excellent service, tasty food, nice ambience and good prices. It is situated a bit "off the beaten track", but we tock a nice 20 minute walk from the Trinity area and had no problems to find it. I can highly recommend the Sussex!

Ate in the Sussex after researching on TripAdvisor and was happy overall with the experience. Very good pub downstairs and it was very busy. The restaurant upstairs was also busy and we all had steaks - which were very good. The staff were under a lot of pressure as think a few had called in sick. This meant service wasn't... More

We were looked after by the welcoming staff after popping up from the busy pub downstairs with no reservation. Food was very good and will be back again. Great burgers and steaks. And chicken wings to start. Perfect for when you get hungry after a few pints downstairs

Great service girls and good meat dishes. Fair value for money. It would take a sommelier and some labelsin more!!!
