Wonderful food. So glad we picked this place out of dozens of others. It was recommended by a chef in the hotel, and boy was he right! We had smoked haddock starter and the special of the day, surf and turf. Dublin Bay Prawns in garlic on a delicious rib eye steak. We were almost speechless with pleasure. Great food... More

The atmosphere and food here was to an excellent standard. I had the tomato and mozzarella to start with, followed by the sheperds pie which was filled with melt in your mouth aromatic lamb and then the chocolated pecan and bannana brownie. All were beautiful and a reasonable price for the high standard of food. Waitress was very friendly and... More

Brought 2 of our Oz friends here on their trip to Ireland and thankfully they were very impressed and delighted to take a break from tour food (which sadly consisted of carrots at every meal they told us!) The Sussex offers a nicely varied menus that covers seafood, steak, chicken and pork. Staff were friendly although levels varied depending on... More

I recommend The Sussex Restaurant to visitors and native Dubliners alike. It is located over the excellent O'Brien's Pub where you can bookend your meal with a drink before and/or after your meal upstairs (try the bar part for a more authentic Dublin bar experience). Food in the Restaurant is excellent, with an innovative twist to even the most conventional... More

Went to the Sussex for dinner recently. Really nice Slovak girl was serving us. Had the smokies as a starter and quite frankly there wasn't enough of it for me to really form an opinion on it. Tiny tiny portion. A few of us had the rib eye steak and the burger. Asked medium rare and in fairness I got... More

We had a wonderful dinner here for a friend's birthday. The food was superb and desserts are well worth a try! The staff were really lovely and catered to any demand. The pub underneath, O'Briens, was great fun.

I brought three colleagues to lunch here last Thursday and we were all very pleased by the quality of food, decor & service in the rooms above the Dublin landmark that is O'Briens of Leeson St. We got a window table, very fast, efficient & friendly attention and all four of our main dishes were excellent (1 x burger, 1... Other reviewers lead the way to The Sussex and it was well worth the walk from the Dublin Hilton. (about 5 blocks). We had the tomato bisque soup and chorizo salad and both were excellent (we usually share starters). Entres filet mignon and ribeye were prepared to perfection and our sides of augratin potatoes were superb. As so many have... More
