The Best Restaurant in Dublin

I have been here numerous times over the past two years, and put simply, this is the best restaurant in Dublin. The food is fantastic, the service is top notch, and the setting (by the canal), cannot be beaten.

From when we walked in to when we left, our experience here was just fantastic. Friendly happy staff chatted away to us at the bar as we waited for our table at this cosy buzzing restaurant, our waiter was great and sorted my vegan requirements with a quick chat with the kitchen, soon the appetiser arrived with aside of fresh bread.... Went for lunch on a sunny Saturday at end of January and were warmly welcomed to the bright and comfortable dining room. We were entertained while waiting by the antics of swans on the canal across the road who jostled with the group of canoeists going up-stream. We decided to have the three course lunch plus an appetiser. As each... More

This place has a new chef and new prices to match! I had salmon, cured & tartare as an appetiser with some really weird black ink crisp and other odd stuff. Then I had the truly wonderful foie gras with rhubarb - combination superb but I couldn't understand the 'add-on' of mushroom toast although it was good. On to the... More

New chef Karl Breen is cooking up a storm. A short menu has some absolute gems on it. Highlights include the sweetbreads and truffle starter with a delicious, unctuous trompet, dill and vinegar jus and crispy kale; foie gras two ways, served innovatively with rhubarb; venison saddle with yoghurt, beetroot and hibiscus. There is a star returning to Locks as... More

Celebrating my wife's Birthday with a intimate French Meal seemed like the right thing to do, and dropping in to Locks Brasserie without a reservation was just the ticket. We were warmly greeted when we arrived and given the option of being seated or starting off with a drink in the bar area. We opted for Manhattan Cocktails, and were... More

We were here for a family wedding in October. My partner ordered his steak, blue. He still talks about it.. Best steak he has ever eaten! I would highly recommend this restaurant for the atmosphere and excellent food quality.

The service at Locks was great and they have a really good value early bird special. Food standard is high but there is no surprise and you wont be amazed with taste sensation. Would recommend.
