Set by the canal the place looks good from the outside. Started with an Irish ale before moving on to the food and wine. All of an extremely high standard - though I would have preferred chunky chips rather than thin fries with my steak. Would go back but will need to be in Dublin first!

Pleasantly surprised with this restaurant as it was our first visit. Excellent food and service. Highly recommended for a special occasion. No fuss and staff were superb. Monkfish main was delicious.

This was my first time back in Locks for a couple of years and it was the most enjoyable visit ever. I had eaten there several times but never been very satisfied but this was set right on my latest visit which was really good.

Visited restaurant 27/3/2014 for early-bird menu. Staff friendly and courteous. Starters, Leek and potato soup & Smoked beetroot with goat's cheese mousse were excellent. My main course, Hake, coconut curry, bok choi, samphire, oyster mushrooms, smelled rotten when it arrived. I was almost nauseated by the aroma. I asked for my opinion to be confirmed but was kicked under the... More

Went for the anniversary last month. A real treat. Superb food, service was top quality. Great location, really nice to be beside the window and look onto the canal. Wine list was extensive. Find it very hard to get a steak cooked right but it was cooked to absolute perfection. 2 drawbacks- quite expensive but defo not a rip off-... More

We had a family group dinner here recently. Lovely atmosphere, and the service, food, presentation were excellent. However not entirely sure if it's worth the price. I had a leek & potato soup that was very pleasant but not spectacular. Then a leek & mushroom pie- delicious filling, pastry too heavy- gorgeous coleslaw on the side. The bread was delicious.... Visited with small work group: ambience was reasonable. Menu was alright but overall felt presentation and taste did not fulfill promise of menu or reputation. I wouldn't hurry back!

We are regular visitors to Dublin and are always seeking out places maybe a little off the beaten track (but still minutes from the City Centre) and this is such a place. We were told about this place a few months back but only recently got the opportunity to visit and it was definitely worth waiting for. Firstly the service... More
