My husband & I were given a gift voucher so came for a romantic dinner on a very warm evening in July. The restaurant is small so on that evening feeling stuffy and also quite noisy due to groups around us (and a lack of anything that absorbs sound in the city-chic decór). We settled in and the service was... More

It is great that this place does not have corkage fee, but other than that the meal was a let down. The starter was a duck salad with two massive slices of cheese on top, which was rather unusual. The biggest disappointment was the steak. It was overcooked, and not by a bit, but by a lot. The desert was... More

This was the best food we ate in Dublin in the week we were in the City. The restaurant is small, as is its wine-list, and informal (no table cloths, nor wine guiding or introductions of the courses), but nevertheless with good and friendly service. The wine selection fit the main courses fairly well, and so didn't degrade the excellent... More

Overall the food quality has dropped in standard. I have eaten here before so it's not a first impression. First off you are charging €27 for 2 courses and you can't even supply gluten free bread??? The spatchcock was so dry it was barely edible. Each course had a samphire garnish (each course on everyone's plate), was there a special... More

Surprisingly disappointing. Wait staff weren't helpful and interested in getting us out the door asap. Had to send back our starters, horrible little mushroom tartlets swimming in water, which were inedible. Main course fish came with mussels, half of which hadn't opened, big no no in my book. Plates were chipped. We were very disappointed, used to frequent this restaurant... More

Located just off the grand canal hidden beside a brick and brack shop is the best casual dinning experience in the city and with a BYO policy on wine with a set menu it makes for unbelievable value. The food was flawless, the chef obviously proud of hid fair. The offerings tasty and plentiful, delicious. The service professional, friendly and... More

We stopped a lady walking down the street in Dublin to ask for a nice restaurant. She recomended Seagrass. We were happily surprised. Not a big place and a bit noisy but the food and service were absolutely magnificent. We had the roast chicken, the cajun chowder, the hake and gnochis. We were blown away with the tastes.

Last Sunday found me doing a little kayak adventure with my son on the canal at Portobello. On completion of that fun event, I decided on a whim to seek out somewhere to have a brunch in the vicinity. Being drawn to The Portobello on Richmond Street, I found it closed but a couple of doors up I found Seagrass... More

I was blown away by this place. Friendly welcome by hostess. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. I had an exquisite crab starter and the lamb shank as a main course. Both were truly excellent and better than I had expected. The desert menu looked great but exercised some restraint for a change. Coffee to finish and bill was... More

Third time in this reastaurant and I have to say it does not stop surprising me. The dinner menu offers a few all-time favourites but also pleases those who are up for exploring the new - like myself: I went for the spatchcock as a main and it was a pure culinary delight. The other half had his favourite lamb... More
