Pre theatre lunch

14 of us went there yesterday for lunch before going to a matinee in The Gate. Lovely private area in the back made it easy for us all to hear each other! As a coeliac it was disappointing that the waiter did not know the menu well enough to advise on food choices, however once we got that... read more

Walking around Dublin we felt a little hungry and came on Le Bon Crubeen. On a cold evening it was nice to get into this restaurant which was lovely and warm. While it was not full there was a number of customers. We decided on a set menu which was reasonably priced at €26 each. Our starters were Goat's cheese... More

Had dinner here on 30/01/2016: six adults. We were on a voucher deal off the a la carte menu. Choice of starters, mains and desserts was excellent. Particularly recommend slow cooked lamb rump. Laid back atmosphere and helpful staff. Tables downstairs a little bit tight.

Had lunch here on 29 January. Food was excellent. Selection of food was mouthwatering - the menu was tantalising and I'd like to have tried several other items on offer. I was one of a group of 20 - everyone else in the group whom I consulted also thought the food was great. The restaurant was full when we arrived,... More

This is a medium-large restaurant, but with smaller, intimate rooms. Our party of five had a prix fixe, pre-theatre meal at Le Bon Crubeen. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, the food was delicious, well presented and promptly served. Between us, we ordered most dishes from the pre-theatre menu, and I would recommend all of it.

A group of 10 had booked in advance for early evening meal. On arrival, were served drinks promptly but were left waiting quite a while and had to ask for our order to be taken, reason given that they were waiting for rest of party to arrive as there was only 8 of us. The room filled up rapidly and... More

Had the early bird here last night. The roast of the day.. Leg of lamb and lemon tart to follow. All lovely...my friend had the fish and chip followed by the hazel nut profiteroles...they were soooo good. Light and crisp and very tasty. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very relaxed. And the service great. My compliments to the chef... More
