We ate at The Exchequer on a Saturday night in October. We were seated in the dining room area which is looking decidedly tired, orange wallpaper, bright lights and Victorian portraits may have had its moment. Service was excellent, fast and friendly. Food was a disgrace, ling fingers and chips was a pile of fishy tasting batter, no actual fish... More

Just back from a meal with seven friends. Consensus poor food. Starter was over seasoned (salty) and the main way too heavy with butter and cream. Not good at all and expensive to boot. Give it a miss!

To be honest, this hurts me. I hate leaving a bad review but there are no alternatives available to me. One oven baked findus fish fingers would have more fish in than all of the batter crusted supposedly fishy elements I found on my plate tonight. To bro honest, I didn't want to pay. My better half persuaded me other... More

This was our second time here. First time for lunch about a year or so ago and now this time for dinner. Both times we really enjoyed the variety and creativity of their mixed drinks menu. It overshadowed the food so much that I can barely remember what I ate. In all seriousness, the food was ambitious and was presented... More

A delightful respite from the more traditional Irish pubs, the Exchequer gastro pub is the place to go for a delicious creative cocktail, and there are 50 pages in their "Ledger of Liquor" menu dedicated to their craft. Sophisticated liquors and liqueurs are imaginatively prepared into different variations of traditional cocktails. The Exchequer Dark & Stormy was a very tasty... More

Had a lovely meal here for a hen night, had a set menu with a good range of choice. Food was fantastic and service really good. Best bread and butter pudding I've ever had. Extremely busy so booking ahead is essential. Cocktails looked really nice.

I go here maybe once a week by myself or with work colleagues for lunch. I nearly always go for the soup and sanwhich of the day. Today if was squash with cumin soup and crispy pork shoulder sandwich with tomato, red onion, lettuce and mayo. Throw a coffee or a capuccino in aswell for a remarkable €8.50. I usually... More

Would recommend this love place for food, wine and cocktails. And very good staff we were there last Monday week at around 9pm, great buzz, when other bars were quite.

Had a great family dinner here, we could share the tapas & the selection was great. Our waitress was brilliant ensuring we had enough on each tapas that we all got a piece & topping up wine as it was needed. Will definitely be returning
