Hidden gem

Came to the restaurant as a treat on a little break in Dublin. E-mailed the restaurant in advance to make sure we could have the 1kg of Porterhouse to share, as back in New Zealand you generally have to do this on certain bigger things. Was told yes this wouldn't be an issue. However, when we got... read more

The house is bright and inviting. The staff were a bit aloof but also professional and unobtrusive. My steak was well-cooked and tender. They clearly take an interest in serving quality food. I would recommend this spot for a romantic meal or one with friends. I don't think I'd take a business client there. There are too many gimmicks, such... More

I took my son and his housemate out for dinner at the Chophouse two weeks ago, having seen very good ratings on tripadvisor. We were not disappointed! the location of the restaurant is a little out of the way, but was about a 20 minute walk from the Intercontinental hotel, roughly the same from Herbert Park, not far from Aviva... Wandered in without a booking on a Sunday evening... waited patiently for 10 mins or so for a table and thankfully the staff looked after us... it was the best 10 minute wait of my life... starter, main course, dessert were amazing. Fantastic value for a D4 establishment. Amazing Staff... thanks guys! I will be back...

Ate here last month with my friend from America. Wasn't very hungry so had two starters while my friend had her mains. I had the fish board and a big sale and I was really happy with it. Had some dessert too. Professional service. Lovely decor. I will return here again definitely and highly recommend it to friends and family.

On a sunday night options are limited. This place was buzzing and its service was very efficient. Our waiter provided excellent advice and was very attentive. My wife had the tuna entree and fish platter main and I had the prawns for entree and scotch fillet for main. Everything was excellent apart from my steak which although ordered medium rare... More

Every time we come back to Ireland we try and visit, and we are always very satisfied. Steaks are consistently great, but this time it was the starter of scallops and black pudding that impressed me the most: great combination in terms of texture. Wine - by the glass - selection is very good. My only complaint is that they... More

Incredible steaks--have the porterhouse. Great food all round, not just meat, in a lively but not deafening room. Not a tourist spot. Lots of regulars, lots of happy people. Reservations essential. Prices very fair, and service is friendly and fun.

Had lunch here a few times this year. Its a nice restaurant, not very special but its a nice place to eat. The food is quite good and the staff are nice. I tried the ChopHouse Classic Fish n’ Chips which was tasty. The next time there I tried the Chophouse Steak Sandwich which was also quite good. Overall, no... More
